A thousand spectators make a thousand Hamlets

I remember someone said that movies are another life, or another state of life. I like movies, because of my appreciation and love for art, and I like to indulge in a more refined real world that makes me cry, makes me laugh, and moves me. A cup of tea, a snack, a movie, all three add up to a good weekend.

"Paradise Cinema" is just like the name, it is a nostalgia for the beauty of the past. It tells the story of a little kid in Sicily who loves movies and grows into a well-known director, but the focus is not on a lot of achievements. Thought is the bright spot. Of course, this film is also a good silhouette of the history of film development, with a strong Italian-style religious atmosphere and a touch of nostalgia.

I really regret watching this so-called "Three-Hour Director's Special Full Version." It was originally a purely touching and enduring friendship, but abruptly came up with a cheesy and procrastinating love story that spanned 30 years. The goodwill disappeared.

Life is not a movie, life is much harder than a movie. "Paradise Cinema" is everyone's childhood, everyone's hometown, and everyone's first love. It is the memory and feeling that permeates the blood and soul until death.

Cinema Paradiso quotes

  • [to Elena]

Alfredo: Out of the fire of love come ashes. Even the greatest love eventually fizzles out.

  • Alfredo: Get out of here! Go back to Rome. You're young and the world is yours. I'm old. I don't want to hear you talk anymore. I want to hear others talking about you. Don't come back. Don't think about us. Don't look back. Don't write. Don't give in to nostalgia. Forget us all. If you do and you come back, don't come see me. I won't let you in my house. Understand?

Salvatore: Thank you. For everything you've done for me.

Alfredo: Whatever you end up doing, love it. The way you loved the projection booth when you were a little squirt.
