spooky alice

I like this version of Alice, there is no fairy tale dream, only cruel reality, brutal rabbit filled with sawdust, unconscious puppet, Queen of Hearts who hack people, specimen bones scattered everywhere, maybe modern The depression of life makes people like the depiction of this surreal technique even more. It does not deny that it will bring a bit of confusion, but it does not affect the fact that this is a good film. An animation, but sees a deeper horror than a horror movie, the close-up narration with red lips, if there is no background music, and the expressionless face of the little loli, it always reminds you that this is not a normal movie. Animation, but maybe this doesn't affect children's viewing. From different perspectives of the children's world, talking puppets, moving cards, and socks that turn into caterpillars are all so novel and interesting, and horror from an adult perspective is not The child's focus, those bone specimens, and the pig-shaped monster are just part of the fun. Isn't it the children's imagination that made this movie possible? In the era of 3D sci-fi blockbusters, isn't it great to look at movies from nearly 30 years ago and experience the silent atmosphere and slow-paced fear?

Uncle Yang's first feature film (it seems to be the only one that has ever released Blu-ray), at the age of 54, he was already mature in style, and the combination of live-action and stop-motion animation was very good (scissor kung fu is really good), as an adaptation is also quite an idea. Little loli is cute. Dirty and weird aesthetics, people and things constantly changing reference systems, narration's isolated usage, playing cards couldn't be better.
