A detail for those who question the magic of McGee's at least being

You don't believe McGee is from the future, but she and a girl who is only about six years old meet each other and complete that complicated gesture ritual.
Think about how many possibilities?
McGee was in a mother-daughter relationship with this little girl when she was involved in illegal activities in the past. The little girl was somewhat autistic due to family reasons, and she didn't think she was a mother after they met, but the little girl could remember such complicated things. Gestures...this is what happens when we assume McGee is her mother

but first of all it's not the case because first of all the above is very unlikely to happen, and secondly this movie really magically shows faith and truth relation. I think I prefer to believe that McGee is from the future, because in the future that gesture spreads, returns to the present, and meets his mother, the creator of the gesture.

So I'm curious to know what happened later, what happened between the black policewoman and McGee...
In another possibility, McGee was too mentally stressed during the crime, you don't know what a person will be when he is seriously stimulated What happened, amnesia - as McGee himself put it, "woke up and didn't know where I was". In fact, such a plot can be explained in science fiction movies as people in the future have implanted a new personality and everything in her brain.
All in all, this is a rare and magical movie, I also downloaded another sister work "Another Earth" starring in it, not to say goodbye!

Sound of My Voice quotes

  • Peter Aitken: Somewhere in the valley, there is a woman living in a basement. She's actually amassing followers. these people believe that she will actually lead them to salvation, or whatever. And yes, she's dangerous - but we have to see this thing through. All the way.

  • Christine: Maggie? Are you dying?

Maggie: Yeah. So are you. So is PJ. Joanne's dying. Peter's dying. Lorna's dying. Every life is a death. And most deaths are suicides.
