The theme this time is "choice", Not good but interesting

The first "Happy Death Day" gave a full surprise with a small budget, telling a suspenseful story with both lighthearted humor and more rigorousness. And under the complete narrative structure of the first part of Happy Death Day, it actually came out with the second part.

"Happy Death Day 2" adds the concept of a parallel universe on the basis of reincarnation. At the beginning of Ryan's reincarnation, I thought it was a story developed from his perspective, but it wasn't. It was just using Ryan to introduce the concept of a parallel universe. By mistake, Tweety returned to her birthday and began to be killed again. Reincarnation, but this time she came to another parallel universe, where Carter is with her best friend, and her mother who was dead is still alive.

In this way, Tweety is faced with a choice, whether to go back to the time and space with Carter or stay in this time and space with her mother.

I saw a lot of people saying that Tweety would rather have a boyfriend than a mother, and then sneered. In fact, this is not just a question like "your mother and her boyfriend fell into the water at the same time, who are you going to save?" At first, Cui Er did not hesitate to choose this time and space with her mother. However, she looked at the photos on her phone that had no memory at all, and chatted with her mother about the time when she had no memory of her last birthday. She slowly realized that this place did not belong to her, and finally she gained the final relief from the conversation with her mother. Whether it is the time span of these episodes or the reasons given, I think there are enough reasons for Tweety to choose to go back.

I also saw someone complain that the time-dimension shuttle is simple. Isn't the telephone microwave oven next door to Destiny Stone Gate even more primitive, but it does not hinder the wonderfulness of Destiny Stone Gate at all.

At the beginning of the film, what two Ryans, what parallel universes cannot have two selves, blah blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Set for setting.

But I thought 2 explained why there was a power outage in 1, and explained the reason for Tweety's reincarnation. I heard that there would be a third film, and I felt that things were not that simple. Looking back, I found that there was a difference in the performance of "juvenile pi" before and after. I flipped through the comments, and sure enough, some bosses have pointed this out.

The cleanliness teenager pi at the opening

The sloppy teen pi at the end of the film

This will never be the character details that the director ignores. Such opposite character habits must be a foreshadowing for 3.

"Happy Death Day 2" continues the lighthearted humor of the previous part. I also really like the pair of cp of the bitch heroine and the honest and gentle hero. However, the previous settings and foreshadowings were not recovered well at the end, which greatly affected the viewing experience. It's not great, but it's also fun.

If "Happy Death Day 3" can recover these foreshadowings and give an interesting ending, then this series is worth 4 stars in my heart, and I am very looking forward to it.

The first movie two years ago made me fall in love with the heroine. A small-cost masterpiece is my favorite time cycle theme. The second part actually involves parallel universes, which is a pleasant surprise. I am satisfied that the hero and the heroine and the lover finally get married, and I am more selfish.

The sequel is still engaging, and the choice between mother and lover is simply heart-wrenching. I'd like to see if the director can make 3.

Happy Death Day 2U quotes

  • [at the lab, Tree explains the situation to the group. After she writes the equations on the board, they prepare Sissy]

Tree Gelbman: How much longer is it gonna take?

Ryan Phan: Thanks to your crazy memory, it shouldn't take long at all. I can have Sissy ready to go in just a few minutes.

[Tree nods. Then she recalls she needs to warn Lori and say goodbye to her parents]

Tree Gelbman: [to Ryan] I need a little more time. There's something I need to do.

    [Tree heads for the door]

    Ryan Phan: Tree!

[Tree stops in her tracks and turns back]

Ryan Phan: You sure you want to go back?

Tree Gelbman: Can't spend my life living in the past. Got to take a leap of faith.

[Tree leaves. Ryan ponders for a moment over what Tree said, then he returns to work on the compter]

  • [Tree goes to her sorority house. As she arrives, Lori comes out, on her way to the hospital]

Lori Spengler: She finally rolls in...

    Tree Gelbman: Uh, Lori, hi.

Lori Spengler: [chuckles, noticing Tree's dishevelled appearance] Big night?

Tree Gelbman: [grunts] You could say that. Um, look, Lori, I...

    [pause]

Tree Gelbman: It's good to see you.

Lori Spengler: [chuckles, puzzled] Wha...? It's good to see you, too, Tree.

[while Tree fumbles for words, something catches Lori's attention, and her smile fades. Tree follows her gaze and sees Gregory leaning on his car, looks annoyed. Lori sighs sadly and lowers her eyes]

Tree Gelbman: He's not worth it. I mean, trust me. I've been involved with a married guy. I know what it's like living a double life. Always feeling like shit about yourself. But it's never too late to change. Someone once told me that "every day is a chance to be someone better." Maybe this is your day.

    [Lori listens to Tree intently]

Lori Spengler: [smiles] Okay. Thank you.

[Tree hugs Lori. She feels bad for killing her in the original dimension, even though it was of self-defence. She has grown to like Lori in the past weeks she spent in this dimension, and hopes she can save her]

Tree Gelbman: Take care of yourself.

[Tree leaves. Lori sighs, then goes to the hospital. Tree enters the sorority house and heads for Danielle's room. She knocks on the door, but no one answers. She enters the room and sees Danielle dressed in a nightgown and a robe]

    Danielle Bouseman: [surprised] Tree...

Tree Gelbman: Hey. Um... look, Danielle, I feel really bad. I've totally been misjudging you, and it's completely on me. I am so sorry that I've, like, made this...

[suddenly, Nick comes out of the bathroom, wears only a towel]

    Nick Sims: [smiles] Nice... three-way.

[Tree realizes that Danielle cheats on Carter. She muses that maybe Danielle is not much better than the selfish bitch she is in the original dimension]

    Danielle Bouseman: [embarrassed] He's kidding.

    Nick Sims: No, I'm-I'm not.

Danielle Bouseman: Nick's, um, shower was broken, so I said he could use mine. Right, Nick?

[naturally, Tree does not believe this lame excuse. Nick is so stupid that he does not understand what Danielle meant]

Nick Sims: [puzzled] My shower's fine.

[Danielle gives Nick a murderous look]

Tree Gelbman: Right. Um, you know what? Never mind. Sorry for interrupting. Bye-ee.

    Nick Sims: Bye-ee.

[Tree leaves, closing the door behind. Angrily, Danielle slaps on Nick's bare chest]

Nick Sims: Ow! What was that for?

Danielle Bouseman: For being dumb as a rock. That's what.

Nick Sims: Oh, really? How can a rock be dumb? They don't even have brains.

[Danielle gapes at Nick's stupidity, and slaps him again]

    Nick Sims: [annoyed] Ouch!
