3. The post-screening talks are very entertaining. Director Wenders is also very interesting. He said that philosophy was too boring, so he gave up after reading it for a year. He said that he had only read Descartes and Sartre and thought that thinking was very tiring, so he was not an intellectual.
4. The black and white part uses the photographer's grandmother's nylon stockings filter, which has a miraculous effect. If it is not used, ordinary black and white has no characteristics. After careful protection, it will fall apart after the black and white part is shot. So the director said that if you still have the stockings your grandma wore in the 1920s, you should keep it.
5. Always wondered about the inconsistency between Der Himmel über Berlin and "Under the Berlin Sky". Very fortunate to have an answer (sort of) today. There is also about the English and French translation of the Wings of Desire. Mr. Wenders said that he likes the name Der Himmel über Berlin very much. What he wants to express is that Berlin has a whole sky, a complete sky without dividing lines. And German happens to express this very poetically. Unfortunately, when he needed to provide a French title before attending the Cannes Film Festival, he found that the phrase the sky above Berlin sounded like a weather forecast in English and French. When he needed a name urgently, he said casually, it would be called Wings of Desire, but the other party said yes, great, so it was settled. But he also felt that it was a pity that the name Himmel was not used when it was released in many countries. He said that China adopted the name Himmel, even if it meant "under the sky", it was just fine, and he felt quite happy.
