Going out to watch British or French movies amid the noise of American movies is like listening to country music amid pop music. This movie is a very good country movie. A population of fifty? A small town with a dull and troubled life, sinful not like sin, gives the impression that it is the goodness of the egoism (not entirely egoistic but not altruistic) inherent in it that overshadows the evil. Sins are dealt with in an extremely bland, simple, and even vivid way, even with a connotation of praise. A suitcase murderer (they always come up with such terms: serial murderer, bomber, ice cone murderer...), a kind-hearted old lady, a family gradually reconciled, the whole story is told like The town is as peaceful as it is, and it is quite lovely. The most peaceful sins, unlike the sinful sins, which are almost reasonable sins, have the deepest impact, when they cause your moral judgment and cause anxiety about a society that is full of contradictions and can hardly be reconciled.
Mr Bean's performance is admirable. You can't define an actor as a certain type of actor, people are not like genre novels. He plays a different husband very well, and naturally there are also very funny places, such as the part of him as a football goalkeeper. Is Mr. Bean's humor typical of British humor?
The smooth rhythm and soundtrack make people always in a state of appreciation. Maybe the key is the old lady's temperamental performance. Finally, I recall the part of the title, she answered the conductor's question so calmly, and asked if there was still black tea to drink when she was imprisoned. Well, at that time I didn't know or Can't believe she's really a murderer, thought it might be a 'Shawshank Redemption' type of wrongly convicted movie, but no, she's really a suitcase murderer, and her spirit really stands out Different, with a very high emotional intelligence.
The corpses are buried at the bottom of the pond, and sin lurks beneath the peaceful life. What is good and what is evil? What standard is used to judge? Will there be a dead person in your suitcase someday? One day, when you long for the perfect life. . .
