The story of the movie takes place 20,000 years ago in northern Europe, when the earth was in the ice age, and the natural environment was very dangerous. The kind-hearted male protagonist Keda accidentally fell off a cliff during a tribal collective hunting. Keda, who survived the disaster, was swept away by the flood and survived into the wilderness. On the way, Koda met a wild wolf and named it Alpha, which means the leader of the wolf pack and also the meaning of the first dog.
