"The Great Adventure"----another film that made me cry

I'm always easily moved by these kinds of movies, last time was "Ladder 49" (Ladder49), this time "The Guardian". They are all about people who risk their lives to save lives.

Kevin Costner, the star of "The Great Adventure", is an actor I like very much. I have seen his TV series since I was a child. It is a detective film, and now I can't remember the name. Later, I also liked the films he directed and starred in, especially "Future Water World". Kevin Costner's performance in "Big Tides" is still very good and left a deep impression on me. The spirit of the film, so exciting, is inseparable from his performance.

A few shots that impressed me:
Shot 1:
Ben Randall is really old, over 40 years old, but he still insists on working as a lifeguard in the Coast Guard (actually this job is by young, able-bodied young men).
Ben Randall's student Jack asked him: "Sir, before you go, I must know one thing, what is your real number?" (actually asking his age)
"22".
Jack taunted him: "Yes, not 200 not..." " 22
is the number I lost, Jack! The only number I counted!" That's what I meant, at first I thought it was Ben Randall who always thought of himself as a 22-year-old guy who didn't think he was old. Unexpectedly, the number of people he lost as a lifeguard in his life, only 22 were not saved... Scene 2: Ben Randall's wife is leaving him, he is very sad. The bartender, an old friend of his and who knew him very well, said to him, "That's not the reason at all, Ben. You're a bigamist, you're married to the Coast Guard, and always have been."

Scene 3:
This scene is the scene of him saying goodbye to his wife. At the beginning of the film, his wife gave him the divorce agreement and asked him to sign it, but he refused. He was reluctant to leave his wife. In the end, he came to his wife with a divorce agreement.
Ben Randall: "I want you to keep this, and this, and I signed it"
Wife: "Why do you sign now"
"I just had something wrong with me... a couple drowned and I got there When the husband was pulling the wife below, just trying to float, pure survival instinct, it took me a long time...it took me a long time to understand, that man is me"
"Oh man"
"I'm It's not a lifeguard anymore, Ocean Ship. Goodbye baby."

Finally they said goodbye reluctantly... After this meeting, Ben Randall died...

Coupled with the soundtrack of the film at this time, I couldn't control my concentration. My own tears... I

can't say any more, and there is no suspense anymore, so let's go take a look!

Finally, to say something is not enough, the film makes a common-sense mistake:
swimming in the sea, when you don't wear diving goggles, you can't push it on your forehead. It should be pulled down so that the goggles hang around your neck. This is because if you push it on your forehead and a wave hits you, the diving goggles will be gone, and the wave will fly away! This is common knowledge for a diver and lifeguard!

Although the plot is old-fashioned, the emotion is sincere.

How many good movies have been ruined by their names, another inspirational movie about how a good teacher affects students' outlook on life

The Guardian quotes

  • Capt. Frank Larson: If by some miracle you actually have what it takes to become one of us, then you get to live a life of meager pay with the distinct possibility of dying slow, cold and alone somewhere in the vast sea. However, you also get the chance to save lives, and there is no greater calling in the world than that. So, ladies and gentlemen, welcome. Welcome to A- school.

  • Emily Thomas: What do you have, an art gallery over here? What is this "2"?

Jake Fischer: It's so the guy behind me knows what place he's coming in.
