A dark humorous literary film with an obscure and elusive theme pretends to be witty and fresh in a sci-fi coat. Thinking about it carefully, it is actually quite distracting.
People who are oppressed by reality to the point of being unable to breathe, who does not feel that they are struggling with the sky above their heads, mediocre and doing nothing, and that they have become the body of survival and slavery. The helplessness amplifies the unease deep inside, and the film just visualizes the small sense of helplessness that arises from this psychological confrontation.
In the face of this metaphor, it is not the naked nudity that makes one's self-esteem sullen, but the self-knowledge of being vulnerable in the face of cruel reality.
In the movie, Paul went from disappointment to hope, from expectation to disappointment, from dejectedness to recklessness again, stumbling and stumbling seemed to hinder everything, but the fundamental reason was that he was wandering in his heart and could not be firm.
After "trial and error" again and again, and getting slapped in the face until someone hits the point that he cares about, he is close to being right. Magnolia's inspiration made Paul realize his self-worth as a doctor, awakened his utopian fantasy of hiding in the underground Noah to save mankind, and encouraged him to make a choice to live in the moment.
It is easy to be reborn, but it is difficult to be reborn. The meaning of life is not to have to turn against the wind, not to dream of restarting life, but to do good deeds and not to ask about the future.
