He said he was not a teacher

I watched the movie "Coach Carter" today, and I couldn't calm down for a long time after watching it. The passion and never-give-up spirit of sports movies is always an essential main course, but today this movie also brought me thinking about sports and education. Now I have some ideas, and I don't vomit unhappily. As we all know, sports is a good idea, especially those of us who are more aware of the benefits, so some people (such as me) become teachers and try to make children fall in love with sports as much as possible. The cultural class in education is a better meaning. The significance of the high school entrance examination accompanies us in the first half of our life and even our whole life. If parents are asked to do a multiple-choice question, then this is an unquestionable multiple-choice question. And what I can't figure out is, why can't this be a multiple-choice question, or even more Demero? In the movie, there are such a group of high school students in the United States. With the help of the coach, they broke through and won all the games. This is their most glorious golden age. Everyone is proud of them, but the coach is watching their culture. After the report card, they resolutely closed the basketball hall and drove them into the library. Only after passing the grade can they play. Parents, schools, and society all protested against this. They all understood that it was impossible for these children to enter the university. Only by playing well could they be spotted by scouts and become a way out. But what is the probability of this? In other words, how many Yao Mings are there in China? Specialties are not privileges! The coach understands that these student-athletes are first students, and then athletes. Only when their grades reach a certain level, plus extra points for their sports expertise, can they enter the university! Otherwise, in the United States, the crime rate of black people who do not go to college is very terrible, and the future is dark. At the end of the movie, the merits and virtues are naturally complete. Although they lost an important game in the end, six members of this basketball team went to college, and five members received full scholarships. In China's real life, from ancient times to the present, everything is inferior, only reading is high, and there is even a joke that China's GDP is supported by the college entrance examination, so the status of cultural courses cannot be shaken. But when I want my children to play sports, some parents start to make multiple choice questions in their minds. They usually think that the relationship between sports and culture is the relationship between fish and bear's paw. I think this is because people are usually wary when they hear the bleak example of a certain athlete after retirement, and they are afraid that their children will repeat the same mistakes. I think this is probably called the bird of the bow! American parents in the movie and Chinese parents in reality have different attitudes towards sports. And which is correct? There is some truth to it, but they all do it badly. I often have some psychological contradictions at work. For example, a small number of children are not doing well, and teachers use "flexible time" to provide some counseling. Because this small part is the main force of my sports, I often have "no problems" in class. "People are available", I remember one of my university teachers once told us that physical education classes should have "dignity", which means that we sports people should not compromise, but I often don't say anything, just tell children that they must be in sports in the future. The homework is set right before class, so that you can come to physical education class, it is really "humble" in daily life. In fact, I also have an idea. The physical education teacher and the culture teacher are never in a one-on-one opposition, but the same camp of educating people, so I can give flexible time, then the same culture teacher can not ignore the children's Exercise rights! Physical education teachers, although still sports, are teachers!

Barely given four stars, sports inspirational movies of this theme are almost the same, and the framework is indeed quite breakthrough. Samuel Jackson's excellent acting performance brought the iron-blooded coach to life. He was right. What is more important than basketball is studying and going to college. In order to completely change their destiny, to keep black children away from bullets and drugs, and to move towards their own real basketball road.

Coach Carter quotes

  • Coach Ken Carter: What's your deepest fear?

Worm: Why he keep saying that? "What's your deepest fear?" What's that mean?

  • Coach Ken Carter: [to the people in attendance at the board hearing] You really need to consider the message you're sending this boys by ending the lockout. It's the same message that we as a culture send to our professional athletes; and that is that they are above the law. If these boys cannot honor the simple rules of a basketball contract, how long do you think it will be before they're out there breaking the law? I played ball here at Richmond High 30 years ago. It was the same thing then; some of my teammates went to prison, some of them even ended up dead. If you vote to end the lockout, you won't have to terminate me; I'll quit.
