"Silent Place 2" , which airborne to the end of May before the release , is a rare foreign horror thriller on the big screen in China. The success of the first "Quiet Place" is mainly because it is a fairly pure horror/thriller genre B-level film, but correspondingly, the thin and crude science fiction background has become a short board in terms of logic and rationality.
"A Quiet Place 2" has learned many lessons from the upper part , and has greatly enriched the entire content, scenes and story lines.
For example, at the beginning of the film, a lot of pen and ink was used to tell the origin of the story (the alien monsters suddenly attacked). It not only explained/reviewed the relationship between the protagonist, Abbott’s family, and facilitated the new and old audiences to review the past and learn the new. The experience of being attacked suddenly under ignorant circumstances contributed to a lively and flustered chase and escape scene.
The sequel has also made drastic changes in the basic theme : the first film is simply "the Abbott family survives alone in the end times" in one sentence, and both the physical space and the narrative space are relatively small; while in Lee Ah In the second part after Burt's sacrifice, Evelyn Abbott took the children out of their homes and embarked on an unknown journey of survival, with new escalations in crises and challenges.
Such a comprehensive update has indeed played an immediate role in improving the "software" effect of the film. Whether you have watched the first part or not, at least most viewers will no longer have a "headlessness" about the story of "A Quiet Place 2". The weird feeling of "no tail" is gone, and the common bridges of apocalyptic survival in it can also shorten the distance with the audience.
Of course, the film retains its core selling point and viewing point, that is, the audio-visual experience that challenges people's physical laws and psychological common sense.
In an environment where any louder sounds/movements will attract monster attacks, survivors must maintain relatively primitive living habits in a "post-modern" environment, and various behaviors and practices are often anti-human : for example: After Marcus was caught in the leg by the trap, Evelyn had to cover her eldest son’s mouth to prevent him from screaming and attracting more monsters. This and the upper Evelyn had to be pierced by spikes on the soles of her feet. Reluctant to hold back the sound, there are similarities in the same way.
In some iconic specific clips, the exclusive skills of "A Quiet Place 2" are also played more proficiently . For example, it combines the sensory perspective of ordinary people, the perspective of the deaf girl Ligan, and the editing of the third-party perspective. Multiple different perspectives are progressively narrated, which not only guarantees an immersive sense of presence in the atmosphere, but also greatly enriches it. Therefore, just like the first "A Quiet Place", I also strongly recommend that the audience go to the theater to watch this sequel, and realize that the "sense of life" is the main meaning of the film -the one I watched was compared at the beginning Noisy and a lot of noise, but as the plot deepens and the atmosphere is rendered in place, everyone naturally calms down, and the corresponding "surprise" effect comes.

Regarding some details and questions about the background, it is worth mentioning that the motives of the main characters are often lacking. The problem is that the promotion of the film's plot is still relying on the characters' lack of motivation and even the lack of logic. For example, the two-line narrative in the second half of the film, its starting point is more ridiculous.
Ligan hurriedly went on the road alone to find the broadcast signal source, in order to inherit his father’s will to fight back against the monster; Aymot didn't want to go to her at first, but when he found it, he accompanied her on the road, just because of Ligan’s words; Eve Lin did not leave any reasons or instructions, so she left her one, one, and two sons out looking for oxygen cylinders; Marcus ran out for no reason to attract strangers, I am afraid it can only be understood as "for the plot needs, we must start a group immediately." ...
Regrettably, after finding the weakness of the monsters, "A Quiet Place 2" uses sound waves too frequently to counter-kill the monsters, so that every monster can hardly escape in the end, and the appearance rate and death rate have soared. The corresponding tension and threat of the film have also been weakened a lot .
Of course, in general, "A Quiet Place 2" still inherits the characteristics of the first one to promote strengths and avoid weaknesses. It is worth going to the theater to see it, but there is not much further interpretation. Please consider whether you want to join the scene.
