Focusing on Garland's last few gigs, interspersed with her childhood, marriage, and custody issues, the film strips away the star's glamorous exterior to show us as real Garland as possible.

Garland had no childhood, and under the pressure of her mother and MGM, she developed drug dependence, which damaged her spirit and health until her death. Jialan experienced four unhappy marriages, was used, controlled and abandoned, and later lost custody because she couldn't raise her children.

The more we once loved Garland on the screen, the more we will be saddened by Garland in this movie. The film's narrative is bland, and the script is not particularly good. The audience who lacks understanding of Garland will even find the film as boring as a running account. But it's hard for me not to be moved. When she sang "Over the rainbow" for the last time, when she finally said to the audience, "You won't forget me, promise me not to forget me", in my heart, Jialan Always the lively and kind cute girl in The Wizard of Oz.

Renee Zellweger's performance was brilliant, and she was Garland throughout the entire viewing. Sixteen years after she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Cold Mountain", she won the 92nd Academy Award for Best Actress for this film.

  • Mickey Deans: Sweetheart, I already said I love you nine times today.

Judy Garland: Well maybe I need ten or twelve, once an hour, like a cuckoo clock. Cuckoo! I love you!

  • Rosalyn Wilder: Listen, it's fine, it's fine, we'll just have Lonnie Donegan perform.

Judy Garland: Over my dead body!

Rosalyn Wilder: If you don't want to do it...

Judy Garland: It's my show! It's my name up there! No! Lonnie Donegan is a peach of a man. But he can go fuck himself if he thinks he's having my billing!
