The authenticity of this film review really made me anxious, because I wrote one before and didn't satisfy me. The biggest reason is that I don't know if their togetherness is called love.
I want to write this review without all the so-called "correct" views. The reason is very simple. The punk culture behind Sid and Nancy seems out of place in this "correct" view.
Then let me talk about punk first, which is also half-understood. Punk represents an extreme of a rebellious spirit (for me). The spirit behind punk is anarchism, questioning everything, and extreme violence. This kind of spirit is undoubtedly dark, but punk became popular in the UK in the 1970s. Because of the economic depression and high unemployment at that time, the young people in the UK beat on the streets without rhythm in order to vent their negative energy. drumbeats, making noise, and wanton scolds for what the government is doing. For the British gentleman culture, punk is the exclusive use of local gangsters, so punk was originally a derogatory term. Later, as more and more people joined the "punk" team, and many young people who could play music gathered, punk music was born.
The bass player in the representative band sex pistols (Sex Pistols) in punk music is the male prototype sid of the film, and most of the plots are adapted from real stories.
For me, a young man born in the greenhouse of the motherland, socialism is bright, and there is a positive energy in it. So when I saw this film, I felt a kind of rejection in my heart, but it was not very strong, and curiosity dominated. I don't know how many "crazy people" I said while watching the movie, because it is full of unprovoked violence and there is no place to put the f-word. The whole film is full of noise, noise, and it is not beautiful at all. But this is also the success of this film, if a punk is made to tear people's eyes, it is not a punk.
Aside from all my three views, I thought about a question, was Sid and Nancy love before?
I think it is, love should have a happy ending, such as growing old, such as blessing each other. But here is different, the love here is to "fall" and die together. A person who can accompany you to the end is the person you want to love, isn't it? There is no need to criticize why they made themselves bruised and bruised, aside from my three views, their togetherness is love.
After Sid and Nancy quarreled and broke up, Sid went to America and still missed Nancy who took him to take drugs. Nancy also thought of Sid from beginning to end. sid quit sex pistols for nancy, and nancy found gig for sid. It can be said that the two are dependent on each other, and they feel like they have fallen into the world. love kills, but I don't think they were killed by love, they were killed by drugs, they were "bad" guys, punks, living in the dirty "underground", before die young was to live Happy, they didn't think about the consequences of drugs, because they didn't care at all.
So they live very comfortably, but Nancy also sheds tears on sid nights for reasons I don't know.
This society has given them too many constraints, so that after breaking free, they don't want to go back to the original, punk to death, punk forever. Gentleman culture gives the British a kind of spiritual shackles, and the wild wildness is accumulated in my heart. When I watched "Pride and Prejudice", I was troubled by the British country gentleman culture. They were so particular that people felt feudal, keep. I also had a headache watching Sid and Nancy, they were as rebellious as psychopaths. Perhaps in the eyes of the British there is no such thing as the middle way.
This is the love of "bad" people, only Sid and Nancy can understand, just like the poem written by Sid to Nancy, Sid only shows his kind side to Nancy.
