When I watched the movie, I felt that the author of the novel should be a woman.
I can’t tell why I feel like this.
Even if I ’m not a woman, I ’m bound to be an introverted person who often thinks alone.
Charles Frazier has a Ph.D. in English. He originally taught at the university,
but in 1990 he left campus and returned to many townships in Northern Colorado, where he took his wife to raise horses.
In the following 7 years, he finished the novel "Cold Mountain" intermittently at the age of 46.
Cold Mountain is a mountain in the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains.
Over 6000 feet above sea level.
In the early years, the Indians called this mountain Datsunalasgunyi. It is
believed that there is a paradise behind Cold Mountain, without any suffering including war.
WPInman is the great uncle of the author Frazier.
All the knowledge about Mr. Inman comes from hearsay and self-imagining,
no photos, no letters, no notes.
The story of "Cold Mountain" describes war and love.
The close-up of the big scene was shot in Romania.
The plot of the story seems very simple.
A man wants to go home to find his lover.
A woman, at home, waiting.
They only met a few times in total, and they gave each other two photos, a book and a set of piano scores.
There was very little dialogue between them, and with just one kiss, the matter was settled.
Regardless of whether the person waiting or the person returning home, he is stubborn and suspicious at the same time.
"Does he/she still remember me? Does he/she still love me? Or, have you ever loved?"
In addition to these two protagonists, it is full of cruelty about war.
The destruction of family and humanity.
Inman, after experiencing the cruelest battle in the Civil War, he
has a new understanding of the so-called justice, foe and life, and life.
During the months of returning home as a deserter, I
met an affair priest, a liar, a sex mania, a kind old lady, a lonely mother, and so on.
Ada kept writing letters while waiting for him, hoping that he could return to him.
Was forced to turn from a charming lady into a peasant woman by the war.
Being bullied by the so-called security team, friends were killed and family destroyed.
War is a nightmare both in the front and in the rear.
... The
war destroyed everything that could be considered good and happy.
People can't be in panic all day long.
The story uses the difficulty of seeing each other to replace the general difficulty of falling in love or getting along with each other. I
don’t know if the ending is beautiful.
But it at least allows the protagonists to realize their wishes. Only this moment.
If they stay together, will it be as Inman worried:
"I don’t know what our relationship will become in the future...
I can almost predict in my heart, once you know what I’ve seen recently Everything, and everything that I have done,
probably won't (love me anymore)." After
Cold Mountain, let's be Cold Mountain.
