Politics and Revenge

Four and a half stars. This is not a typical Jackie Chan movie, or a movie with Jackie Chan as the center and just as one of the characters. Jackie Chan tag and action revenge themes aside, this is a very informative political film that I think is good. To this end, it will take some time to expand the political background. The political confrontation between the British government and the leaders of Northern Ireland, and the determined revenge of the Chinese living in a foreign land interweave and interpret this "British confrontation". It has always made me tangled in thinking, in the face of the hatred of losing my beloved, shouldn't I be determined to take revenge, and when will the revenge after hatred be repaid? From the perspective of this stranger, it expanded to the feud between the British ethnic regions at that time. The continuous bloodshed made each family individual bear new hatred. The shadow of hatred has always spread. When will it end? Some people think that the senior official in Northern Ireland played by Lao Bu is wronged, so can the blood on his hands be easily wiped off? Moreover, under his political confrontation with the British government, it was a dirty and ruthless political transaction, a political conspiracy of intrigue, a selfish selfishness who lost the car and guarded the commander, and a big traitor like loyalty. Senior officials are neither innocent nor sympathetic. On the contrary, with the end of the action, I finally breathed a sigh of relief, and let this revenge have a beginning and an end.

If it weren't for the narrative perspective starting with Jackie Chan, you wouldn't even realize that he's the protagonist. A work that remixes political films and action films. Although Jackie Chan's performance is worse than ever, it is a little sad for an "actor" to say "another director uses him as an action tool" rather than "the director made him responsible for the action line"

On a certain level, it forms an interesting contrast and reflection with the "Out of thin air" I watched before... The characters are more plump (Brosnan's politician image is slightly one-sided). Finally, I can forget the "bad old man" who tried to laugh awkwardly in "Kung Fu Yoga" and other vulgar comedies, but a father who trembled and said "I have nothing left" and was ignited by his close relatives and the past. I also prefer to see Jackie Chan like this.
