Timothy Treadaway, a wildlife conservationist, travels to the Alaska Sanctuary every summer to live with grizzly bears. In the meantime, he shot hundreds of hours of video, which Herzog put together.

Timothy is a sincere believer. In his eyes, grizzly bears are perfect creatures. He likes to observe them, guard them, and often talk to them as friends. It sounds like a perfect fairy tale, but at the end of the story, Timothy died under the paw of a bear.
You don't need to look at other people's comments to know that he is very controversial. The movie has given a lot of angles. The person in charge of the rescue thought he was doing it on his own. He knew that grizzly bears were extremely aggressive, but he still chose to live with them. This was a landmine that was bound to be stepped on.
Another curator thought Timothy's behavior was bad. When you get along with bears, if people think that bears are not dangerous, they are very dangerous to people. If you make bears think that people are not dangerous, they are also very dangerous to bears.

Timothy, a man with a special philosophy, was not born in some weird family. His childhood and adolescence were no different from other children. He had a happy childhood and grew up healthily. In college, he tasted the powerlessness of reality for the first time, dropped out of college, and lost his dream of being an actor, which made him fall into alcohol and drugs. His life became empty, and it was only when he entered a world without people that he felt his life was full.
For the next thirteen years, he took a camera and went to the wild to record the story of the grizzly bear. There is not much mention of his contribution to the Grizzlies later in the film, and even data is used to show that his protection is actually useless. So the focus of the story is on him instead.
Since Herzog works with mostly raw, unprocessed material, he doesn't shy away from showing us a more complex character behind the TV. He checked and re-shot again and again, sometimes narrating to the camera, sometimes sighing, and his emotions were very unstable. There is excitement and cursing, but you can still feel his genuine love.
For most of the summer, he had no one to talk to, and all he told was alone in front of the camera, in front of a non-existent audience. Without the boss asking for material, or making a request, what exactly is he recording, what is conveying, the purpose of the beginning may become blurred. Day after day, it may be his heart that is finally tempered.
He has been showing his inner joy. I don't know if he regards the bear as a doll and his beautiful childhood. No matter whether it is an escape or not, no matter what the result is, our focus should be on searching his heart. A guy who wants to be a grizzly, a guy who can't survive in the real world.
