Dumbo--This is a Heartwarming Fairy Tale

This is a very comfortable movie, with a masked villain, a witty circus, innocent and lovely children, a disabled horse trainer, and a cute little Dumbo. Precisely because it is a fairy tale, the sister and brother, whose mother died and father passed away, spent a year in the circus peacefully, without suffering any abuse, let alone being sexually assaulted by a bad uncle. Just because it's a fairy tale, the trainer lost an arm and was able to find a new job in the circus. It is precisely because it is a fairy tale that the deformed baby elephant broke through the cage and flew freely. Fairy tales are for children who believe in them, and adults don't need to accuse fairy tales of being naive. I have always felt that Tim Burton has a stubborn and hot heart, and he has only been shooting fairy tales for 30 years.

Uh, it may be worth seeing for children. That little girl is really a character who thinks and is terrified. At first glance, it is the character and psychology of the villain. It is disastrous and ugly, too bad.

In the original animation, Dumbo would blow out elephant-shaped bubbles. In the live-action version, in the warm-up performance before the acrobats appeared for Dumbo, a group of dancing elephants was transformed by a big wave of a human hand. This feeling is very paradoxical. Bubbles turned into a group of dancing elephants flying around in the sky. Isn't the latter more worth seeing, Dumbo has been robbed, hello? Therefore, the adaptation should be more like "Fantasy Forest", which is mainly based on animals. It is neither real nor fantastic, and it is born.

Dumbo quotes

  • Max Medici: Welcome to the Medici Family circus where we believe no wild animals shall be held in captivity.

  • Holt Farrier: [as he, Milly, and Joe slowly approach Dumbo, hiding underneath a pile of straw] Don't be scared.

[diminishing to a whisper as he squats down in front of the straw pile]

Holt Farrier: Don't be scared now; your momma's right outside.
