I read this 142-minute version twice in two installments.
The whole film is always permeated with a kind of magic, from the funny wedding opening to the absurd funeral ending. Can't tell that this is half of your life? Or half your life? The turkey with its wings spread, the statue of the god standing, the swirling wedding dress, the noisy neighbors... The scene that left the deepest impression was the family who huddled together under the roof that rose up in the sky on a rainy night--even if It's just a few scraps of tiles, and it's also the end of our small lives. And when all is lost, how lucky we are to have the body temperature of those around us.
The protagonist Belhan, from a boy to a man, seems to be constantly gaining: turkey, love, money, respect... In fact, he is clearly and continuously losing: laughter, innocence, trust, life... Accordion played repeatedly The song is the will to live and the longing to live; the vocals sung repeatedly are the helplessness of passing away and the grief of death.
Those who try to refute fate are eventually defeated by fate. And those who squat and crawl in the mud can always find a gap for their survival, and from it, there is hope that there is no hope. Are you saying this is cowardice? Isn't this the origin and truth of life? !
