The introduction of Xi Fat at the beginning of this episode briefly explains the theme of the series. Hitchcock's short stories, and even his long ones, can be seen as an adult fable and fairy tale.
This episode is a western, a western that takes place in a tavern. In a heavy rainstorm, a hurried cowboy came to a remote tavern. He was very alert, and the gun in his arms could not relax for a moment.
Fortunately, the proprietress in the tavern was a smart and brave old woman. She prepares warm and delicious food for hungry travelers without gossiping and asking questions, making wandering tourists feel very comfortable.
After a while, another hurried cowboy also came to the tavern, and the two quickly looked like frightened beasts, full of killing intent. Draw your weapon quickly and shoot at any time.
The proprietress is a person with very high emotional intelligence. She speaks sharply at times, and is humorous at other times. The two cowboys are like a childish child in front of her.
The beauty of the short film is that it has everything a story should have, and the time is very tight. The face-to-face battle between the two has become the McGuffin of this episode. How the proprietress solves it is the biggest point of the story. Of course, there is also Xi Fat's sharp explanation, which makes the story more interesting.
