The movie "Door Lock" starring Bai Baihe is adapted from the Korean movie of the same name starring Gong Hyo-jin. The master version of these two movies is the Spanish movie "When You Are Sleeping".
Obviously, whether it is the Korean version or the Chinese version, "Door Lock", which focuses on the safety of women living alone, is more valuable for discussion on social issues. "Door Lock" discusses the plight of women living alone in the city from the perspective of threatened women. This is a very clever, easier to let the audience have a sense of substitution.
Compared to the original, "When You Go To Sleep" has a much cooler perspective.
If "Door Lock" scares you, then "When You Sleep Late" will make you feel suffocated. The film is purely from a bystander's point of view, cuts in from the perpetrator's point of view, and doesn't speak for him or argue for him, but the director is trying to pull us into a perverted point of view.
It's just that the director can't expect the audience's understanding of perversion. In fact, the so-called perversion is something that normal people can't understand.
But perverts manipulated us.
"When You Go To Sleep Late" is completely an anti-cool movie setting. When you turn off the projection after watching the movie, you will suddenly feel a chill behind your back, like being pinned to a chair, and it is difficult to rest your fear.
The perverted uncle in the movie, after continuously assaulting the female tenant, killing the female tenant's boyfriend, and intimidating the little girl who witnessed his crime, still escaped the crime safely, and continued to torture the female tenant who had moved out of the apartment.
And this is the end.
We have seen many cases where the protagonist becomes infatuated with love and hates because of infatuation, which gradually breeds killing intent. The perverted uncle of the administrator here is really not that simple. Does he have any love for the beautiful tenant who is smiling all day? Of course there is, but more of a deformed jealousy and disgust.
He said he was not born with the ability to be happy, and the only way to be happy is to see others unhappy.
Is his motive for the crime love, or is he trying to make the beautiful tenant unhappy when he sees someone who loves them and is happy?
Countless times, she stunned the female tenant and violated her, wishing to sleep next to the female tenant after she fell asleep, while self-righteously accompanying her, she had to hide all her actions.
In the end, what he lacks is not the ability to be happy, but the ability to love someone. He doesn't dare to show his sincerity, and he thinks he is in control of the other person's fate.
Essentially, he's hypocritical, timid, and a twisted bastard.
But he also has a great ability to hurt others. He has no perception of other people's pain and ordinary people's feelings, and is extremely cold-blooded.
The only part of the movie that pretends to be affectionate is when he visits and talks to his mother in the hospital. Talking about it is actually all about him venting and showing off his crimes or "victory". Although the mother can't speak, we can see that the mother is well aware of his perversion.
The little loli who is opposite the female tenant also plays a very important role. If this administrator is a perverted uncle, a vicious pervert, then this little loli is also a precocious and evil little devil.
After witnessing him sneaking into the female tenant's house again and again late at night, Little Loli did not choose to tell the parents and the police, nor did she remind the female tenant, but thought she was wise to blackmail the pervert.
She didn't know there was a word called seeking skin with a tiger, so little Lolita was not the boss behind the scenes after all, just like the mother in the hospital did not substantially correct or stop him.
The female tenant was accidentally pregnant without her knowledge, and the matter was revealed. The female tenant's boyfriend confronted him. He almost killed the female tenant's boyfriend in cold blood. The little loli finally stripped off all the armed toughness and precociousness in the intimidation. Be an obedient accomplice.
And the female tenant, who left the apartment with an unexpectedly pregnant child, thought she could escape from everything, but the pervert continued to torment her in an extremely vicious way. The movie ends with a montage of the perverted caretaker triumphantly and the female tenant breaking down and crying while holding the baby.
It seems that, as a movie, "While You Are Sleeping" doesn't give the audience any inspiration
As a suspense thriller (more of a thriller), it is enough to let people see what the evil of human nature is.
Perhaps this is also a warning.
