A more perfect Cinderella

Very old-fashioned plot. But it gave me a deeper understanding of Cinderella.
Maybe every girl longed to be a Cinderella when she was a child. Because we can't be Snow White after all, we're not so blessed to be born; we can't be the Little Mermaid either, that's too dreamy. And Cinderella, the ordinary kind Cinderella, is the one closest to us. I think this is also the reason why this fairy tale is so enduring and has been adapted and remade again and again. It represents the beautiful dream in the bottom of a girl's heart.
But then I started to no longer envy Cinderella, I no longer wanted to be her. I began to question this fairy tale. Because all the prince wanted was girls who could wear a glass slipper, he was even tricked by Cinderella's two sisters into thinking they were his girls. Although the final ending is still a happy ending, I think Cinderella is so unfortunate. This is a tragedy.
Perhaps the fairy tales of centuries ago did not take into account that much. Maybe it's not suitable for the current era.
But today's movie, I think it's adapted perfectly. Cinderella is no longer just a girl who can wear a glass slipper. She is flesh and blood, with her own thoughts and dreams. I was moved by her beauty, courage and confidence as she started to be herself and tell her Prince Charming what she really wanted. This movie taught me the same thing as "High School Musical 1", which is to listen to your heart and understand what you really want, instead of living the life that others have arranged for you, so that you can truly feel happy and joyful .
At the same time, it also re-established the image of a Cinderella, and let me start to like this fairy tale again, or more precisely, to like this modern version of Cinderella. I have been comparing me and my boyfriend to this fairy tale, I feel that I am inferior and unfortunate. But today I realized I was wrong, I'm not a Cinderella at all. Cinderella is a beautiful girl because of her confidence and bravery, she won the prince's love by her efforts. Her relationship with the prince is equal, and it's not a matter of who gives to whom. And I've always been too shy. I am far from her. Perhaps, only when I find my confidence and courage, and listen to my inner voice, will I be able to become a Cinderella, and the ending of the fairy tale will be truly happy and beautiful.
I figured that if I could have a daughter in the future, when I told her about Cinderella's fairy tale, I would tell her about this movie. Just like Sam's dad in the movie, let her understand that girls need to achieve their dreams too, not just find a Prince Charming. I did find the answer to my question from this movie.
