In fact, when I was choosing the disc, I only had Paris because of the name of the movie. I kept the disc at home, and I didn’t feel like watching it for a few months. After all, there are too many movies with Paris in their name, although it’s good There are a lot of movies, but Paris in the movies always feels a little unreal. The Last Tango in Paris, I Love You Paris, Paris, Texas, these movies can almost be called classics. I thought this film was just called Paris, but it was just another collection of Parisian romances, big and small.

This film is indeed another selection of Parisian romances, but it is a little more realistic, maybe because of the economic crisis, Paris is inevitably realistic, people on the verge of unemployment, people on the verge of death , people who are tangled, people who leave and return, together make up the story of Paris.

The dialogue between the protagonist and the taxi driver at the end of the film reveals the theme of the film, C'est Paris. Paris, as a romantic capital, is also a city, and those who live in it have to bear the inevitable melancholy and sadness in life. The ending song is very interesting, the first sentence is, I'don't care whatever happens. Then the camera slowly zooms out, as if to tell people, no matter what, this is Paris.

Indeed, this is Paris, this is life.

Paris quotes

  • Élise: [in French] You're all alone here? What do you do all day?

Pierre: [in French] Watch other people live. Wonder who they are, where they go? They become hereoes in my little stories.

  • Pierre: [discussing his nieces and nephew] We've gotta be honest and say I'm gonna croak.

    Élise: That's not certain.

Pierre: Then it'll be a nice surprise, if it's not true.
