There's something I've always wanted to tell you
after I was shot a few years ago.
Do you know what was the
first thing that came to my mind before I passed out?
is a coin.
I went back to being 8 years old, when I
attended the United States Mint and
listened to a man explain how coins are minted,
how they are stamped out of sheet metal,
how to grind edges,
how to mark,
how to wash, and how to manually calibrate Inspect every batch of coins...
even the tiniest counties.
Do you remember the trip we took to Philadelphia together?
But now I think about it,
I'm a US Army coin,
minted in 1980,
just stamped out of a metal plate, with the logo washed and the edges polished,
but now I have two bullets on this coin Hole, it
's not perfect anymore,
Dad, we're all two coins.
But there is one more thing, I want to tell you,
before the coma, the last thought
was her.
I'm sorry, Dad...
Fortunately, the story is connected with family and love, otherwise it would be even more flimsy.
The legend is very touching, but in
the end, it didn't satisfy my wish for tearful detoxification! !
