Reminds me of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"

I saw this film on TV by accident, and the title of the film made me naturally think of "Flying Over the Cuckoo's Nest".
After watching the whole film, in addition to feeling the optimism and bravery of the protagonist, I still have to feel that the society has indeed progressed (at least from the perspective of the situation reflected in the film), and the protagonist at least has his own choice in this film The right to leave the insane asylum without having to "leap" the insane asylum like a jailbreak. Otherwise there would be no back story.
