one is the attitude towards history. Three families in three countries are strung together because of sarah, and no one shies away or faces this personal history with indifference. Personal attitudes reflect national attitudes, including the apology of former French President Chirac on behalf of France for what France did to the Jews during World War II.
Second, I appreciate the level of photography. I don't watch many French films, mostly long dialogue or French humor, but this film is very tense and well-balanced. That kind of grief and sadness do not need to cry out to interpret, the kind of love of relatives does not need to shout to prove. That restrained sadness is easier to move.
