Don't forget America is a Protestant country

Protestant teachings have a saying, work hard, keep earning money, donate money, go to heaven after death. On the surface, this principle does not contradict the "greed is good" preached by the hero. It is also mentioned in The Wealth of Nations that the selfishness of each individual creates the wealth of the society as a whole. But don't forget there's also a Theory of Moral Sentiments, which emphasizes social fairness and justice.

In the movie "Greed is good, it stimulates the upward motivation of human beings." It seems to be the truth. But why did Adam Smith later write the Theory of Moral Sentiments? Where can you tell that these kinds of deals are fair?

When we increase wealth for ourselves and bring prosperity to society by the way, we disregard social morality and fairness. Is this what we should do? So I think this film is an expression of understanding that American capitalism has ended up out of order because of excessive greed.

Interests and social morality have long been discussed in the field of economics. Not much to say.

After watching 1, I am more determined about my evaluation of 2. The plot of 1 is more contagious, but the perspective of 2 is obviously much wider. These two films are very much like the relationship between "Gladiator" and "Heavenly Kingdom"

Ever wonder why fund managers can't beat the S&P 500? 'Cause they're sheep, and sheep get slaughtered.
