A Story About Commitment - After Viewing "The Migrating Bird"

This documentary by French director Jacques Behan is a little different, and the migrating bird is the best known in the 'Heaven, Earth and Man' trilogy. (The other two are "Microcosm" and "Himalaya") Different from other documentaries I have seen, this film on the migration of migratory birds shows more the temperament of a literary film - oil painting-like composition and color, music and picture. A perfect blend (the theme song "To Be By Your Side" by Nick Cave actually brought me to tears). But these are just that this movie is more of a spirit.
In the inherent impression, the migration of migratory birds is a very romantic landscape, which often appears in the corners of poems and paintings, but director Jacques turned the scenery in the foil into the protagonist, and also let me appreciate the different migratory birds from my memory. It begins with a French idyllic teenager untying a wild duck that is about to fall behind in a pond. The rope wrapped around the wild duck also becomes a thread throughout the movie. After that, the director's camera followed this large army and cut into more than ten other migratory birds (mainly cranes). The picture is really beautiful, under the stars; under the cliffs of the sunset; in the black forest snow; in the endless sky ; on the heat of the Sahara desert; on the Amazon River; make me, a student of the Academy of Fine Arts, to be ashamed. But the reality is not always as beautiful as the picture. When crossing the Ruhr industrial area in Germany, I was caught in industrial waste and watched my companions leave the deep trapped me. When crossing France, I was hit by a hunter and fell in pain. The winged seabird was eaten bit by bit by the crabs on the coast.
Moreover, the director likes to express this feature in a very strong way, and will suddenly intersperse the sad scene after the beautiful and warm scene, which is what we call the law of nature. Fly from all over the northern hemisphere to the bird's paradise - Africa, and then fly back to their respective homes after the winter. Every year, it will be very desolate and sad. The members of the team decrease one by one, but in order to survive, we must move forward. fly. Suddenly I don't understand nature very much. Why does every life live according to the rules set by nature itself, but there are dangers and difficulties everywhere?
Finally, the migratory birds return to their hometowns to reproduce, hunt for food, fly, and start a new life. The scene was shot to the envy of a single human being like me. The wild duck that was entangled in the rope also returned to the beautiful pastoral garden. The scene where the old lady feeds the birds in the first half and the second half is very intriguing, and they don't eat human food at first. But after a process of migration and reincarnation, they finally ate the corn kernels in the hands of the old lady. I heard that the director used a team of thousands of people, including top photographers, pilots, and biologists. Even training a bird actor, which is the kind that humans can get close to and not afraid of shooting, but I think this is a bit contrary to the documentary nature of the documentary, but it does not hurt. Do birds travel long distances to work on the road or live in harmony with humans? Not at all.
Migratory birds migrate year after year, no matter how far they travel. I think nature is right. Only in this way can the power, love, and responsibility of the splendid and magnificent life be displayed, and the meaning of life can be manifested in this way. Birds are so, not to mention humans?
The lyrics of the theme song "To Be By Your Side" summarize the movie (this song is very beautiful and touching, I suggest friends to enjoy it)
Across the oceans Across the seas, over forests of blackened
trees Through valleys
so still we dare not breathe, to be by your side Heavy mountains Through howling winds and driving rains, to be by your side

Every mile and every year, for every one a little tear
I
cannot explain this, dear, I will not even
try Go try

Into the night as the stars collide
Across
the borders that divide forests of stone standing
petrified a single tear I cannot explain this, dear, I will not even try For I know one thing, love comes I only know one thing on a wing , the wings return with love For tonight I will be by your side. But tomorrow I will fly

From the bottom of the sea to the top of the mountain
Through the frontiers of your sleep
Into
the valley where we dare not speak, to be by your side
Across
the endless wilderness where all the beasts bow down their heads
Darling
I will never rest till I am by your side Darling I will never rest till I am by your side
Every

mile and every year, time and distance disappear I cannot explain this
every mile, every year, time passes, dear
No, I will not even try And I know just one thing, love comes on a wing and Tonight I will be by your side I only know one thing, wings return with love, tonight I will be back by your side But tomorrow I will fly away But tomorrow I will fly away Love rises with the day and tonight I may be by your side

Love grows day by day, I will be by your side tonight
But tomorrow I will fly, tomorrow I will fly, tomorrow I will fly...
But tomorrow I will fly, tomorrow I will fly, tomorrow I will fly... . ..

Cameramen, hard work! Beautiful picture showing the condition of migrating birds. That blue parrot is the one from RIO, right? When I opened the cage, I couldn't help but admire the wisdom that was forced out by human beings. Did it eventually become extinct? How many similar tragedies will there be under the guns of hunters and the capture of humans? Nature is amazing~ It would be great if everyone got along harmoniously~

This is a shocking documentary, every scene in the film is refreshing, and seeing this film is like being in a dream about living in the city. . I have never observed the flight of birds so carefully, so beautiful and light. The magnificence of nature and the magic of life can be seen through migrating birds. . .
