He was tortured, in pain but enjoying the pain. I could sense the sensitivity and gloom in his character. Such extremes are probably the most suitable for such a chilling environment.
They met, they didn't talk much, she took him on a horse, in his perspective in the camera, he was filled with her, her long hair, her hands, behind her ears... I can feel how beautiful she is in his eyes , he didn't speak, just buried his head in her fluffy curls, and I could seem to smell the fragrance of the wilderness.
Catherine should have the smell of the wilderness, she is strong, stubborn and proud, she takes him to the rock, he doesn't say anything, but he doesn't even have to look at her, she knows he understands her. She enjoys his silent and thick love, she loves his connection with her soul. She was cruel and willful to him, but she also helped him lick his wounds. In the mud he fell on her, she closed her eyes, she knew he would not hurt her.
Then it happened unexpectedly. She decides to marry Lynton, who has a wealthy life and is witty.
But she said: Where the soul is, there is a deep sense of error.
As if love and love are different. She loved Linton, but her soul could not be disloyal to Heathcliff. She didn't understand that where the heart is, is the loyalty. They always possessed each other.
Love is not easily broken, but trust is fragile.
Heathcliff ran away that rainy night. Disappeared from the darkness and returned from the haze.
He came back for revenge. She was frightened, guilty and angry for his departure, and she flattered him and punished him. He knew that he still loved her, and that firm love was why he refused to forgive her betrayal.
Attracting each other and torturing each other, without compromise or forgiveness, they are as stubborn as rocks, unmeltable, constantly colliding, persecuting each other knowing that the other cannot be changed, and both will suffer.
Catherine's sudden illness leaves Heathcliff at a loss. Why do we always like to torture our loved ones by our side until they can no longer stay by our side?
Death took her away.
He lived, he repented, he punished himself until Catherine's soul came and took him.
What I like most about Arnold's films is the raw vitality, the natural, untouched landscapes, although it's really tiring to hold the camera. But there's dirt, there's scars, there's a dirty dark house, and that's where this absolute love belongs.
