On an ordinary day, a young boy named Zachary and Ethan had an argument in a park, the former broke the latter's mouth with a stick. This minor dispute over children brought together two couples who had no relationship at all. Mike Longstreet (John C Reilly), who runs a haberdashery, and Penelope (Jodie Foster), a writer, are Ethan's parents. They welcome Zachley's parents, lawyer Alan Cowin (Christoph Waltz) and investment broker Nancy (Kate Winslet), to their home. They negotiated, discussed, argued, sneered, and criticized their children's injuries. Sometimes they forced their faces to be happy, sometimes they were unhappy, but they had to face to face this difficult and painful day... This
film won the 2011 Boston Film Critics Award Best Ensemble Award, 2011 Venice Film Festival Little Golden Lion Award.

    What a wonderful group play!

You are arguing and stubborn, and the 70-minute full dialogue is enjoyable, but it is still a little far-fetched.

Carnage quotes

  • Penelope Longstreet: [to Alan] Don't you tell me about Africa. I know all about suffering in Africa!

  • Nancy Cowan: [reaching for the scotch bottle] Let's get out of here, Alan. These people are monsters.

    Alan Cowan: Stop it, Nancy.

Nancy Cowan: No, no, no. I want to drink some more. I- I wanna get drunk off my ass! This- this bitch throws my bag against the ceiling, nobody lifts a finger. I wanna be blind drunk.

    Alan Cowan: You're drunk enough.

Nancy Cowan: How can you let her call our son a criminal? We come over here to work things out with them and they, they insult us, they browbeat us, they lecture us about being good citizens of the world! I am glad our son kicked the shit out of your son and I wipe my ass with your human rights!

Michael Longstreet: Wow! Get a couple of drinks in her and BAM!, her true self comes out.
