Lost in the forest of desire

Compared with the Chinese name "Spider Nest City", I prefer the English name of the film "Throne Of Blood", "the blood-stained throne". A series of conspiracies, monsters, spider forests, killings and wars have all become props for director Akira Kurosawa to visualize desire in this film.

The slightly exaggerated performance of Toshiro Mifune in the film brilliantly shows the madness and ugliness of human nature after being swallowed by desire - this is a wonderful and profound film, and it is also an eternal warning fable. Before the battle, the protagonist ran into the Spider-Hand Forest to look for monsters, but he didn't know that the monsters were in his heart.

The scene at the beginning and end of the film is a city of spiders in the clouds. This ending is very intriguing - yes, nothing will change. Desire is the original sin of human beings, and being swallowed by desire is the fate that human beings can never escape. .

It was really classic in the film class, but it was also very boring to watch. zzZ.

Basically the same level as Zhang Guoshi’s shooting thunderstorms into golden armor... Kurosawa feels how obsessed with the big scene, he has to let a large group of soldiers or a bunch of horses run around... Well, but how many This lens and certain elements are pretty good, such as the scene where the bird is flying around the room the night before death~ I like it~

Throne of Blood quotes

  • Old Ghost Woman: [singing] Men are vain and death is long, And pride dies first within the grave, For hair and nails are growing still, When face and fame are gone, Nothing in this world will save, Or measure up man's actions here, Nor in the next - for there is none, This life must end in fear, Only evil may maintain, An afterlife for those who will, Who love this world - who have no son, To whom ambition calls, Even so - this false fame falls, Death will reign - man dies in vain.
