Existence is reasonable. I have always agreed with this sentence, especially when it is used in the film's protagonist, Frank. This geek-focused film is actually like many American indie films of its kind in the past, except that it's set in the forests of Ireland. The quintessential villain is the character who's desperate to make the band famous but ends up screwing it up, and the mediocre design of this kind of thing tastes like chewing wax. The discussion about the good and bad music, I think, should be the most interesting part of the film. In the final analysis, it is a matter of taste. The Chinese saying that river water does not violate well water can explain everything. There is absolutely no need to force the band to change their style like the fool in the film. How to turn alternative indie music into a commercially popular product is another complicated topic. Maggie Gyllenhaal and Fassbender both have impressive performances, especially the actor's performance in the last scene that definitely brought tears to my eyes.
