Shaun the Sheep: My friend, please keep that great simplicity forever

The films made by the British are more or less contaminated with the same ambiguous atmosphere of deja vu.

However, this is not criticism. From the perspective of time, I prefer to regard this inner temperament as the accumulation and inheritance of the traditions of the times. If you compare Shaun the Sheep with Paddington from earlier this year, there's even an illusion of one heart. Perhaps this is because, under the screen, the filmmakers are British, and on the screen, the people who are laughing and angering are actually British.
This kind of humorous culture, which is not deliberately cold, but runs through strong irony and self-deprecating, has been carried forward in the British Isles and is no longer familiar to British comedians. At first glance, making a big Shaun the Sheep movie sounds a bit ridiculous. "Super Invincible Gate Dog" does have a style. The slightly scary little darkness combined with the expressiveness of clay has a wonderful effect. It is a rare taste for groups with more experience in watching movies. And what about "Shaun the Sheep" without dialogue? Subsequent to the instant noodle skit; no lines, just relying on visuals to develop humorous elements; the intelligence level is maintained at naughty pranks, rather than evil conspiracy, do the cute characters really have the ability to conquer audiences all over the world?
The answer is yes.
Any normal human being over the age of three can easily understand this too simple story. However, in such a film of all ages, the difference in age and knowledge will not prevent any audience from appreciating the different levels of emotion in it. Once again, Aardman Animation Studios delivers a captivating and exuberant work with passion, dedication and focus.
On the moss-bottomed farm, the cute sheep, like the rancher, live everyday in ordinary life, and gradually get lost in the dull daily life. Someday, Sean and Minna-san decide to do something. However, an unexpected accident happened, and the farmer, accompanied by an out-of-control trailer, broke into an unfamiliar metropolis. And the sheep and the dog Bitzer embarked on an alternative journey of "Lambs into the City" together.
At the end of the film, everyone will finally understand that every ordinary day we spend may be a miracle that happens continuously.

If there's anything wrong with the plot of the movie, it's rightly so: Shaun the Sheep isn't complicated at all, in fact, it stubbornly guards that kid-centric entertainment from beginning to end. The standard, even in the fixed preaching of animated films, seems a little too cautious and verbose. Because the film does not have dialogue for a long time, but transmits signals through body movements and facial expressions, although the excessively frequent tricks are very pleasant, they always slip in the direction of farce unknowingly. As for Aardman's signature social satire, it's almost gone.
But it is undeniable that the look and feel of "Shaun the Sheep" is still very ideal and pleasant, not only for those children, but also for those adults who have not lost their innocence. Aardman's animation production hasn't seemed to change over the years, with stop-motion dwindling and the market shrinking to the point where no one even thinks of it except for an award nomination. Animations made of clay and wood may be outdated, and the painfully slow and abnormal production methods are even less popular, but none of this is a reason to lose the spirit and energy of Aardman's films. In the story, the fashion industry's little guy lays a gun, the stray animal caretaker once again takes on the villain, the manual hypnosis of the sheep baa, and the amazing baa quintet without musical instruments, under the support of a series of interesting details, Whether you've seen the TV version of Shaun the Sheep or not, you'll be greeted with a knowing smile, really.
Beneath the humor on the outside, the ideas that "Shaun the Sheep" wants to convey, and the development process of the main characters, although they have worked hard, are not uncommon. The relationship between Baabaa and the farmer maintains an ambiguous distance. If I had to find a metaphor, it would be akin to the relationship between factory owners and workers in the early industrial era. Baabaa is the same clock (to go to work) every day, and although Sean has the will of independence, he never really leaves the arms of the farmer. If you have to think about it, this kind of character relationship and character development is actually a bit strange and very British. And the small contrast between the farmer and the baa when they were young and now, there is some midlife crisis and rediscovering the meaning of life. The farmer seems to have started a new career in the middle, but in fact, this new career still relies on his deep-rooted farming skills. The main contradiction that does not exist between the baa baa people and the farmer can actually be solved with simple words. It forms part of a life full of infinite joy.
All kinds of things are destined that the audience of "Shaun the Sheep" will not think about life in the cinema, but simply empty their heads and enjoy a presumptuous and relaxed good laugh.

In the era of CG animation dominating the rivers and lakes, perhaps only the conscience of the industry, Aardman, can make clay animation so charming and elegant.
It's difficult to stretch an animation that is only a few minutes per episode into an animated film of just over 75 minutes without moisture, but Shaun the Sheep does one thing: it's not boring. Aside from the necessary sound effects and a very heartwarming soundtrack, the whole film is filled with a great simplicity that has been inherited from the silent era. This kind of great simplicity is very rare in our era, and it is also the spirit that Aardman has forgotten in several recent animated films. As for those little Easter eggs, they are more like desserts: "The Shawshank Redemption", "Silence of the Lambs" and Wolverine are all lying down. It will affect your viewing experience.
If you have to be picky, "Shaun the Sheep" may not have the enthusiastic emotions of "Chicken Run", and it is not as off-line as "The Curse of the Rabbit", but baaa people don't care. Because Baa Baa are Baa Baa, although they are naughty and unabated, they are always warm, sincere, and lovely.
In addition, baby Timmy was fried.

From 2:00 pm on Saturday, the theme movie [Wearing Qiuku] will be broadcast live for a limited time for free. This is the third part. I went to the theater in Xi'an with ex to watch it, and there was no dialogue. We also bought a small Sean toy pendant at the Drum Tower stall, which has the same texture of clay and plasticine as the one in the movie, and a bracelet with a name engraved on it. I don't know if she is doing well now, I haven't been in touch for many years. 【Bilibili】

It's not easy to make a big movie of clay animation. The story is very simple, but it is full of laughs, and it is quite warm and sincere. The part where the lambs jump around and make people fall asleep is so funny! Ha ha ha ha!
