Different from the director's previous films, the characters described in this film have changed from low-level characters such as wandering entertainers, prostitutes, gangsters, and liars to middle- and upper-class people in society, including rich girls, female stars, rich second-generation, etc. Even the protagonist is an accomplished columnist. The style of the film has also changed from the previous sketch to the oil painting, which is rich in ink, bright and gorgeous, without the freshness before, but after all, it is the work of a famous director.
