"Descendants of the Sun" is a mini-series of Shuimu aired by KBS TV in South Korea on February 24, 2016. It is directed by Li Yingfu, scripted by Kim Eun-sook and Kim Won-seok, starring Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, and Jin Jiu and Kim Ji-won. The drama is the first Korean drama to be broadcast simultaneously in China and South Korea.
The play mainly tells the story of Yoo Si-jin, the leader of the overseas dispatching team of the Special Forces, and Jiang Mo-yeon, a surgeon, who love each other back and forth between South Korea and Uruk, the dispatching area.
This drama is Song Joong Ki's first work after his discharge from the military.
Because the theme of the play is too hard, with war and the army as the mainstay, it is difficult for advertisers to place advertisements, and it is almost impossible to find a TV station to broadcast it.
The premiere rating of the show was as high as 14.3%, setting the highest rating for the premiere of the TVB mini-series since 2014.
In "Descendants of the Sun", Yoo Shi-jin and Kang Mo-yeon played by Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo are vivid, cute, handsome and charming. It's really heartbreaking. Be contrived and have the courage to face up to your own heart and feelings.
