Human life is not supreme

Under the wrapping of the zombie theme, this movie still discusses the life and death of the human world in the face of a better race. From a higher perspective, overlooking the theme of the end of the world. Such works, including "annihilation", "Parasite", etc., all regard human beings as a member of the tiny dust of the universe, rather than simply presupposing a clear black and white standpoint between monsters and humans.

When mankind is facing extinction, those groups that have mutated and are more adaptable to the environment than humans should unconditionally sacrifice their lives to save mankind. NO. There is no reason.

Natural Selection. Already the weaklings of nature, human beings are still arrogant and blind, cruel and exclusive to aliens, rather than understanding and cooperating. Then one day, a wise leader appears in this powerful alien race, and the weak human camp will be quickly eliminated.

I think this film is trying to convey a kind of equality and humility. Persuade human beings to put aside their arrogance and have awe at the mysteries of life. It is also a kind of irony and pessimism that human beings are helpless in the face of natural elimination.

The Girl with All the Gifts quotes

  • Dr. Caroline Caldwell: [referring to the zombies] They gather in groups as they did in the base. We're not sure why.

    Melanie: They must be lonely.

Sgt. Eddie Parks: [sarcastically] Oh... I hadn't though of that one.

  • Dr. Caroline Caldwell: In dissection it's very clear. The fungus is wrapped around your brain like, ivy around an oak tree.

Melanie: But I can talk. I'm like you.

Dr. Caroline Caldwell: You're not like anything that's ever existed before.
