Ragnar's emotional choice

I was disappointed with Ragnar since Aslaug came over with a pregnant belly.

The relationship between Ragnar and Aslaug was not accepted by the family from the beginning. First, his son Bjore asked him to swear not to have sex with Aslaug; second, his wife Lagertha asked him to make a promise that he would never see Aslaug again. Ragnar agreed twice. He probably also felt that the dew relationship was over. He never expected that Aslaug would come to the door and was pregnant with his child.

What to do in this situation?

Ragnar's wife and children have a clear attitude: they don't welcome Aslaug. However, he remained decent, did not make any hostile behavior to Aslaug directly, and let Ragnar solve the things he did.

Unfortunately, Ragnar did nothing. He forgot the promise he made to his wife and son, but hoped that the mother and son would accept that he would marry another wife.

At the banquet, Ragnar asked Lagertha and Aslaug to sit on either side of him, saying that the earl in some places could marry two wives, and then observing his wife Lagertha's expression while rubbing her head coquettishly on her shoulder. I think Lagertha must be angry, humiliated and disappointed inside.

Ragnar was supposed to face the choice, but he was hesitant to make a decision; it was Ragnar's mistake, but he let his family bear the consequences, hoping that his family could tolerate him, accept him, and make changes for him. This type of person is too selfish.

The decision will not go away.

The parties' refusal to choose is equivalent to throwing the pain of the choice to others.

I admire Lagertha's decisive departure. Because she knew very well, Ragnar had made it clear-he would not give up Aslaug and the baby in her stomach for Lagertha. This relationship, no matter how beautiful it was before, is actually unreliable. The person she loves actually loves herself even more.

Leaving is also to maintain self-esteem and decency. It's impossible to have to tear off the minor third, which is too ugly.

  • Floki: Who needs a reason for betrayal? One must always think the worst Ragnar, even of your own kin. That way, you avoid too much disappointment in life.
