But at this time something happened suddenly. The young Kodak had no experience in hunting for the first time. Kodak was so fateful that he stumbled and fell into a narrow protrusion in the middle of the cliff, unconscious. On the way home, he was chased by the wolves and climbed to the tree. Alpha, who was agile among the wolves, bit Kodak's leg in one bite. Kodak suffered a pain, and he used a stone knife to pierce Alpha. The injured Alpha was abandoned by his companion and lay dying under the tree. Kodak was kind-hearted and couldn't bear to kill Alpha, but finally healed Alpha carefully, and the friendship of one person and one dog began.
The brilliance of the movie is that it leaves a lot of foreshadowing at the beginning of the movie, which makes the subsequent adventure of a lifetime of nine deaths more logical. For example, Kodak was the best stoner in the tribe, so he was able to polish it all the way, and then use sharp stone tools to repel Alpha. For another example, Kodak was kind-hearted and couldn't bear to kill, so he saved Alpha's life and opened up the great friendship between man and dog. For example, at the beginning, I talked about the huge stone road signs left by the ancestors, and the star map tattooed on Kodak's hand, so Kodak was able to find his way home in the vast ice and snow.
I really like this kind of stories about ancient times. I am curious how humans at that time used a weak form to survive between harsh natural conditions and fierce animals, and even defeated the strong with the weak. How many setbacks have been experienced during this period, a simple homecoming, it seems that today may be just a matter of a train ticket, but at that time it had to go through so many sufferings, and even a life of nine deaths to go home. The requirements for food and clothing are also so low, you can live casually, eat bugs, drink water in the quagmire, fight tigers, and walk in the ice and snow with a few animal skins. His leg was broken, he tied a branch, and continued to walk forward limping. Our protagonist, Kodak, is a pretty girl-like boy. From the very beginning, he didn't have the power to bind a chicken, and he didn't dare to kill a cow. At the end, he stared at Alpha with a fierce look and said I would eat. Only you can eat. It reflects his evolution and also reflects his gradual transformation into the kind of leader his father wants. He is majestic and not benevolent, able to lead the tribe and face challenges calmly.
I watched the movie and felt that our ancestors were not easy and moved. After thousands of years of survival, they laid the foundation for everything we can enjoy today. Just like the huge rocks in the movie, the ancestors piled up road signs with flesh and blood. Guide us the way.
Of course, there are many flaws in the film. The biggest problem is that the protagonist’s aura is serious. At the beginning, the protagonist was too weak. In his appearance, he couldn’t survive for several days. In the end, he not only completed the impossible task, but also conquered a wolf. Just as gentle as a dog. In fact, to this day, everyone I know who breeds mixed wolves and dogs knows that even if they are mixed, they are untamed and will retain their wild nature. They will not be as loyal as Alpha and can both tug and fetch.
