If an equation cannot represent God, it will be meaningless

I accidentally saw the story of Ramanujan and heard that there was a film production, so I can’t wait to find it.

I thought this was a life-time portrayal of a genius, even Baidu compared other genius masters, such as Newton, Terrass, and Leonardo da Vinci. It was a bit naive, but it was hard to hide the love for mathematics and the admiration of genius mathematicians. I have to say something off topic. When I was young, I loved mathematics, but my personal qualifications were limited and educational resources were scarce. I was barely just a smart young man in the eyes of the teacher. Nowadays, there are no obvious traces of mathematics in work and life, but the longing for the ultimate meaning of the universe can probably only be found in the occasional film and television works.

With this enthusiasm that may be more than the average audience, naturally there will be more subjective wishes for the quality of the film, but as the plot advances, the historical reproduction is not as expected. In the film, Hardy took Ramanujan's words before Newton's writings, and Ramanujan hid in the statue hall where Newton was displayed. In the end, Littlewood wrote to Hardy's letter: "Forget Jacobi Well, maybe he can stand shoulder to shoulder with Newton." Yes, this is no longer a genius in the ordinary sense. This is a messenger of God and a son of mankind. Maybe we would say that God is jealous of talents, but I think it is God's punishment for ignorant humans, punishing those prejudice and jealousy towards Ramanujan, and bringing his messengers back to heaven early.

It may be that the academic issues are too complicated to be realized, or the director deliberately focuses on the escalating plot of contradictions in a special period. Ramanujan’s genius is not too deep, but he has seen Hardy’s harshness again. In the 1930s, not only Hardy, Littlewood, but also resolute opponents such as McMahon finally stood on the side of the truth rationally. Academic controversy and prejudice are inevitable, but in the face of the truth, everyone should surrender. On this road of searching for proof, thank you for being such a great person as Hardy, and hope that we too, and more.

Uncle played a teacher again, but luckily he didn't mess with the students this time. . . Ah no kidding, the life of a very inspiring genius. From Turing to Ramanujan, genius is always not understood by mediocre brains. regret.

Very emotional performance, as is the plot. I personally can't agree with the various political correctness that the film imposes. 4 star recommendation

The Man Who Knew Infinity quotes

  • S. Ramanujan: [gazing at the umbrella Hardy is carrying in full sunlight] Sir, do you know something I do not?

    G.H. Hardy: [sarcastically] Apparently not!

[realizing the question referred to his umbrella]

G.H. Hardy: Oh! God and I don't exactly see eye-to-eye. So if I prepare for rain, then it won't. So far, so good.

    [bellowing at the sky]

G.H. Hardy: I'm Hardy. And I'm spending the afternoon in the Wren Library!

    [speaking again to Ramanujan]

G.H. Hardy: Now we're sure to have sunshine. Hmph. You see, I am what you call an atheist.

    S. Ramanujan: No, sir. You believe in God. You just don't think He likes you.

  • Major MacMahon: Now, how high I have to go?

    S. Ramanujan: P of 200 should do. I really can do it.
