Like his structure

The structure of his films is very similar, the "X"-shaped bifurcation-convergence-bifurcation, on both sides are infinite open bodies, instead of carefully designing a complete and closed narrative.

His film seems to be an "on-going story", a self-conscious life entity. The characters in the story are not told about the past and the future. There is no flashback of memory, only the ongoing plot, just like The story will still grow outside of this movie. Everyone in the story does not exist for the purpose of achieving this story. Outside of the movie, they still have their own independent stories.

This structure is most apparent in "Outlaws".

This is the reason why I like him.

I really like Jim Jamsh's wild imagination and unique film style. Let alone the actors of this film, the weird storyline alone is enough to make you can't wait! Maybe this is not a story at all, nor is it a bizarre fairy tale fable at all. He ridiculed everything in his best way-absurd humor, black humor! ! !

Omg, I'm totally into Jarmusch's humour now, it's so funny! About a certain surface fantasy, light and comfortable.

Down by Law quotes

  • Roberto: It is a sad and beautiful world!

Zack: Yeah, it's a sad and beautiful world, pal. Eh, buzz off.

Roberto: Ah, thank you! Buzz off-a to you, too.

    Zack: Buzz off!

Roberto: Ah, buzz off. Buzz off? Buzz off? It's - it's a sad and beautiful world. Buzz off.

[writes it down in a pocket notebook]

Roberto: Buzz - off. Good evening, buzz off to everybody. Oh, thank you. Buzz off to you too. Oh, it's a pleasure. Thank you.

Zack: [takes a swig of beer, starts singing] O-we, now, now, it's a sad and beautiful world, It's a sad and beautiful world, It's a sad and beautiful world, It's a sad and beautiful world...

  • Roberto: [looking through his book of English phrases] If looks can kill, I am a-dead now.
