Zeitgeist

It is not a movie with protagonist or story line; it is more like a documentary film. After watching Zeitgeist, I was just appalled, appalled by the content of the movie and the mind storm it stimulated. Undoubtedly, I questioned the validity of what is stated in the movie. However, I have no evidence to prove their incorrectness either. Neither am I able to prove most of the news and reports inundating me daily via our public media to be true with concrete evidence. Who is really telling the truth ? I think I will never be able to answer this question. Zeitgeist challenged our understanding of many pivotal concepts and events, including religion and wars. All these events and holy myths are portrayed as scheme, which aim to manipulate the general public for the advantage of a small group. Presidents, the Pope, the generals….all seem to be the puppets of the few people behind the curtain, who are actually controlling the lifeline of the world. The points in the movie may sound ridiculous and even blasphemous and they are definitely challenging our traditional views, but they are not completely groundless and irrational. “Zeitgeist” definitely is a movie with power.

Zeitgeist quotes

  • Bill Hicks: Life's like a ride in an amusement park, and when you go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down and round and round, it has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud and it's fun... for a while. Some have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered and they come back to us and they say: "hey, don't worry this is just a ride." And we kill those people.

  • George Carlin: When it comes to bullshit, big-time major-league Bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: - Religion.
