Form is greater than content

A stream of consciousness movie with a strong experimental nature. The current aesthetic dimension of the individual is still focused on the story and emotion, so I am very indifferent to this film.

The lighting and editing work very hard to create a sense of eroticism, but in the end it is forced to escape into nothingness by the camera. The lights of the streets of Tokyo, drugs and pornography are screaming psychedelic, and when you see a round light object, you must get in. The transition is unreal like a medicine every minute, and the fancy mutation of a computer lock screen wallpaper is also mixed in. The ubiquitous sex spectacle... However, it is in vain. We are locked in a dead body, near and far away, wandering to see the world of chaotic time and space. Even if the lens processing is successful in obtaining the inner stability of the characters, it is completely The form of drawing away from the character's heart still appears bold and lacking in skill.

You can't deny it completely because of the exhaustion of sensory stimulation and the expression of excessive self-indulgence. Things in the philosophical sense are generally the most difficult to communicate with the audience. I think of Bill Viola’s exhibition. This is the thing that I’ve seen the most effective interpretation of the philosophy of life and death. One of the works is to put childbirth and dying together. However, the mentality of people watching the video on the exhibition is totally different from that of going into the theater. Similarly, the life and death of the theater in the theater is not enough to make people think. What is quite impressive is that when I watched it in foreign theaters, the genitals made in the lens caused many people to laugh.

No drug addiction, no drug addiction

The movie without the third perspective, the long and dark trip...no wonder someone is fidgeting. Reality is the most unstable and chaotic. The visual prominence, especially the spatial distortion lens when escaping into the next trip, the magical stretching from the telephoto end to the wide-angle end is far more effective than those special effects with too strong CG flavor used to directly depict the trip. The sound is exquisite, and it has completely completed the task of shaping the ontology together with the vision.

Enter the Void quotes

  • Alex: The drug guy, he's a dirty bastard you know. Yeah, he likes boys.

    Oscar: Who is this?

Alex: Bruno, the guy that gave me drugs. Don't even take a drink. You take a drink, you might wake up two days later with his shit in your mouth, you know.

    [pause]

Alex: Or your own shit, you know. I should be able to get him to see you today but I won't come back with you so you should be careful. You know what his new trick is? He can't even be turned on by fucking now, so what he does is...

Oscar: [looking over the balcony] Hey... I'm not gonna *jump* from here, am I?

Alex: Hey, once a new guy gives him a blowjob, yeah, he sticks his finger inside his own ass, and then he wipes his finger on the back of their head. So they walk around with shit on their hair.

  • Alex: You know what this reminds me?

    Oscar: What?

Alex: Smoking. It reminds me of sucking on my mother's nipples. Best thing in my life.

Oscar: Yeah, freak... When is this acid gonna be hitting me?
