When I saw the title, my heart refused. I have always believed that film naming is a very profound knowledge. It does not necessarily reflect the content of the film, nor does it require people to understand what type of film it is at a glance. Even if it is a commercial film, you can try to make the title of the film literary and abstract, giving people a little more reverie. For action-type commercial films, I personally feel that the governor’s classic masterpiece "True Lies" represents the highest level of naming such films.
"Cold-blooded Pursuit", this blunt and upright title, resembles the style of translating Hollywood movies in Hong Kong and Taiwan in the 1990s. At that time, the video halls on the streets and alleys had just completed the mission of "Science Education" for enthusiastic teenagers, replaced by VCD and DVD players in the TV cabinets in the living rooms of every household. The conspicuous locations of the video store and the rental market were the most popular Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Hollywood gunfight action movie posters at the time. The title of the movie was basically inseparable from "Jedi", "Speed", "Desperate" and so on. Twenty years have passed in a blink of an eye, and now every time I see this retro-style film title, I feel like I'm being crossed.
Speaking of the film, in recent years Uncle Liam Nissen has been trapped in the abyss of the "xx Rescue" series and is unable to extricate himself from it. He worked tirelessly to use his agile skill and the aura of the all-powerful protagonist to eradicate terrorists and evil forces from various countries with enmity. I also hate the endless "Rescue" universe. When I saw the title of this work that was highly similar to the rescue style, I almost thought it was a derivative of the change of the vest, and I had no expectations at once. In the end, it was discovered that this was a cult film completely different from the "Rescue" series, with a trace of Quentin Tarendillo in style. Blizzard, Border Town, Revenge, many details are full of black humor. Every character is not superfluous. Through expressions, actions, and dialogues, he is portrayed to be angular and distinctive. As the targets were eliminated one by one, there was a kind of release and catharsis in the heart, as if all kinds of unsatisfactory in real life were also pursued by the protagonist in cold blood, and the clean and happy gratitude and enmity were very happy.
After watching the movie, I sincerely hope that Uncle Liam can step out of his own "Rescue" universe. After all, "Oscar Schindler" was so radiant and deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
