Zidan said, "So-and-so said that "The Guardian of the Golden Clothes" is Li Rengang's best movie, do you think so-and-so's words are reliable?"
I said, "So-and-so is quite reliable, and I'm afraid that Li Rengang's best movie will be the same. That's it."
At the end of "Jin Yiwei", Donnie Yen played Qinglong Fengtian Chengren, a killing machine with a heart of justice, died. In "October Siege," his character also died. Compared with the heroes of the screen who can never die, Donnie Yen has performed atonement and grief twice in a row, with depth.
The martial arts road film Qinglong's death-seeking journey
"Jin Yiwei" is called "Fourteen Swords" in English. Qinglong carried a camera obscura with him and contained fourteen knives. The most important one was "Fengtian Chengren", which was simply used to commit suicide. Similar to the female killer in "The Naked Agent", Jin Yiwei's training is based on the law of survival of the fittest. Qinglong, as a top expert in Jinyiwei, also experienced the cruel training of killing his own brother to become a killing machine. Qinglong couldn't get rid of the nightmare of killing siblings. He needed that knife, not "Fengtian Chengren", but Fengtian Cheng "human".
"Jin Yiwei" Aspect and Failure NO.1 - sacrifice for love
Frankly speaking, love is the most beautiful in "Jin Yi Wei", but it is the least well-photographed. Many people only see the love in Donnie Yen and Zhao Wei's films, but ignore another more turbulent love undercurrent - Tuotuo.
Tuotuo is also a killing machine serving the imperial court, and was ordered to hunt down Qinglong. Tuotuo uses a whip, and Qinglong uses a sword. The former "wraps" the latter "stabs", the sword is the symbol of the phallus, and the whip can be wrapped around it. Sexual metaphor is obvious.
Tuotuo and Qinglong are both people who can't control their own destiny. They have a resonance that doesn't need words in their hearts, but they are forced to choose to kill each other. This is the biggest point of love in "Jin Yiwei". It is a pity that the director has this awareness, but does not have this technique.
In the end, the decisive battle between Qinglong and Tuotuo, rather than showing "fight for life", might as well be filmed as "making love". Like "Mrs. & Mrs. Smith", "Director Li, understand?"
In the decisive battle and divided into three levels, it is enough to raise the film to a level.
1. The sword and whip are lingering, and the tricks are "dangerous" and "interesting". This is foreplay.
Two, melee. Needless to say, let's play.
Three, perish together. In fact, the film was very interesting. Qinglong was holding Tuotuo and was "shot" through by an arrow. Hold together to reach the climax of death.
The moment Tuotuo was finally hugged by Qinglong, she no longer resisted. If she could not choose how to "live", she would choose to "die" in the arms of her lover. What is most worth looking forward to in "Jin Yiwei" is this love sacrifice scene, but unfortunately there is no taste of "sacrifice love", the director is really a stinky hand!
"Jin Yiwei" Aspect and Failure No.2 - Friendship
Wu Zun plays the desert judge in "Jin Yi Wei". The name is very mysterious. In fact, he is a bandit in the rivers and lakes. He is young and ignorant. The heart is very eager to live. If Qinglong hadn't been reduced to Jinyiwei at the beginning, maybe he would be as sunny as the desert judge.
Wu Chun's character represents real hope in the film, but the director made a fatal mistake here by letting the Desert Judge and Qinglong die as well. This kind of treatment almost denies the existence of beauty, and makes people even more unable to understand what the director wants to express! The "romance, chivalry, and freedom" that Qinglong wanted to pursue were all overshadowed by the death of the desert judge!
