This movie is depressing. It seems to be the feeling of reading Haruki Murakami's "After Dark". It feels very similar. It's all peaceful in the process. I didn't feel much after that. Just after thinking about it, I suddenly felt the urge to watch it again.
Let's introduce the plot. Poland. A cozy little family. The wife's child is about to be born. The husband wanted to record his daughter's growth. Bought a camera. The company held a celebration and invited the employee to take a photo of his machine. After that, his interest and talent went out of control. But also left out the family. Very tortuous. His work was relaxed by television. Become famous in one fell swoop. But in the end his wife divorced him. took his child. Momentary impulse. He ruined his work. Destroyed the film by hand. In the scolding and helplessness of his companions, he looked at the film rolling in front of him in disbelief. The film ends with his confession.
The film is 103 minutes long. It always gave me a sense of oppression. The plot is scattered. There are some details that I can't ignore. He videotaped the hearse driver with a video camera, as well as the man's mother. Then the mother died. He gave the film to his friend. He takes the life of the company's old employees as the theme. After it aired on TV. The old staff were moved to tears. His companion was drunk. He said frantically, "You're amazing. You're famous again, and you lost your family." He has been lying on the sofa since he destroyed the work. The milkman came to deliver the milk, and he poured the milk from the previous day into the sewer. Send out the empty bottle. Got a new bottle. Just put it on the coffee table. Final shot. He picked up the camera that made him crazy, but also destroyed his life, pointed it at himself, and said the most loving but also the most lonely language in his heart. Sometimes because of madness, for the cause of love. Maybe something really had to be thrown away. He would rather marry the camera and go home. There is no strength to keep his wife and children.
This is an early rise work by Krzysztof Kieslowski. The technology is really amateurish. But because it is a documentary, what this method shoots has a kind of oppressive reality. The 8mm camera in the film. Everything that bothers the obsessed has been said. This is a film about hobbies, career, family, life, ideals, admirers, loss, success, loneliness and lamentation.
postscript.
Another sudden aphasia. Except for the pictures and words in my mind, there is nothing left. Maybe it's a kind of oppression that extends after watching the film. These words are subject to revision. But not today. A little tired. Below is a synopsis of the film and links to other people's comments. If you have enough patience, you can watch this movie. Because the pace of the movie is very slow. Perfect for a quiet afternoon. Watched on a sunny afternoon. Maybe there will be a deeper insight.
