The first crow croaked across the silent night sky.
She wrote notes, then stared blankly, not knowing what year, month and day it was, and even forgot who she was. The paradise-like life made her with short hair so isolated from the world and stayed in the mountains year after year. This is the scene at the beginning of the fantasy work The Hidden Wall (2012). The film won the Catholic Humane Spirit Award at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival and was directed by Julian Bosler.
The metaphor of the film is obvious, and it directly hits the plight of modern people. Behind the hidden wall reflects the poignant poetry, and the ultimate thinking it brings is a long-standing testimony to the controversy about birth and accession to the WTO in the East. What life is like. People struggle every day in the reality of desire, escape and hardship. There is no consensus on what is true and what is false, where to go, and there may never be a conclusion and a time to stop.
It seems that we live forever in the hidden wall surrounded on all sides, but we cannot escape from life. This is the inevitable fate of human beings, or the secret origin of endless life, and it is unknown. Even thinking into speculative words and images is in vain. But try your best to break through the illusion of a solid fence and gain the possibility of breaking through. This is what human beings must do and can do.
The unnamed heroine has been trapped in the Alps. A few years ago, with her long flowing hair, she drove a sports car to the mountains with her friend Hugo, who is a collector, and her girlfriend, and stayed at the hunting house. That day, Hugo and his girlfriend went to the mountains to play and never returned. When the two of them left, the accompanying dog, Luke, seemed to smell something weird and just didn't want to move forward. Waiting for nothing, she had to go to find.
Walking through the winding mountain path, there is a small village in front of it, but it is suddenly blocked by an invisible hidden wall, like a huge hard and smooth glass. At first I thought it was an illusion, but with a touch, the hidden wall was indeed erected here. She had to go back and saw a farmhouse in the hills in the distance. She wanted to go there, but there was still a hidden wall blocking the way. I saw the old man bent over to catch the water with both hands under the faucet, and the old lady sat under the eaves and looked into the distance, just like a freeze-frame shot of a movie, the two of them always act like this. Turns out they were already dead. As if in the underworld, she must find an exit.
When she was looking for a way out, she discovered that all the way to the outside world was blocked by this invisible hidden wall. She even drove a sports car to crash quickly, but the car was damaged, and the hidden wall was unscathed. She had to stay in the hunting house, fortunately to have this good dog with her. On her yellowed calendar, she wrote down the details of her life in the mountains. After the snowy winter, the lush summer came. She came to the mountain pasture and unexpectedly got the cow Bella. Since then, she has nourished milk and a cute white cat.
She felt an unprecedented comfort in the mountain pasture. She seemed to have forgotten the hustle and bustle of the earthly life before. She enjoyed this rare tranquility and lush greenery. She said that it is sad to think of human beings, who always go to useless confrontation with natural things. She seems to be stuck with a new me.
She said she had long forgotten that Lux was a dog, and her company made her full and happy. But then one day, when she was walking in the mountains, she found Lucas rushing forward desperately. When she panted and ran to the flat mountain in front of her, she found a man like a savage biting Lux. She hurried down the mountain to get a shotgun. When she came up, the dog died and she shot the man. Whether this man is also one of the same kind trapped in the mountains, or is his friend Hugo. Since then, she has become increasingly impatient. She doesn't know when she will be able to get out of the mountain, when this ubiquitous hidden wall will be broken.
It's just that the severe winter will come, and she has to go down the mountain and enter the hunting house. When she was bored, a white crow "dumb" came to her door and she fed it. It was almost customary that the white crow would come to her door on time every day for food. It became part of her tasting of the interesting sights in the mountains. She said that the white crow was always ridiculed and ostracized by its fellows just because she was different. In fact, it is the most beautiful of its kind.
She wrote "The cold wind blows over the rocks, but I am colder than the cold wind."
But the yellowing calendar has been written, and there is no paper to use. She can no longer tell her thoughts and thoughts in the future. What should I do? Who else can she tell? Fortunately, there are white crows with them during the day. Lying on the bed cold, she heard a crow after nightfall, like the first sound she heard when she came to the mountain, but it was by no means the last time she heard it. This bleak cry will also accompany her through the endless night in loneliness.
