[Action] Not only the sign of the wanderer, but also the soul

Although I haven't watched the original animation, I have always been a loyal fan of the "Rurouni Kenshin" series of live-action movies. Because of this, it must be admitted that, on the whole, "Human Punishment" was filmed mediocrely. Let's talk about literature first. If I remember correctly, the first three are in the context of the Meiji Restoration, telling the alternation of old and new eras. The symbolic meaning of Hiimura Kenshin and his reverse-edged sword is extremely clear and strong. An executioner who grew up in the old era chose to [live to protect others] to atone for his past sins—even if this sin was the original sin that was inevitable in opening up a new era. The anti-blade knife pointed the blade at himself, which is a wake-up call and a yearning for a new era of peace. I hope that there will be no more hatred, conspiracy and killing in the new era. Therefore, Jian Xin also faces the anti-blade knife and makes a "oath not to kill". ". (Actually the same is true of "Gintama". After the war against foreigners, Ginshi no longer has any ideals. He doesn't like or hate the new era, he just wants to protect the people around him, even the weapons are wooden knives bought from TV shopping Lake Toya, despite the attacking power...it's outrageous) In "Human Punishment", peace has become the norm, the struggle of the big era has lost its value, and the love and hate between people has become the theme. Xue Daiyuan appeared on the stage, to take revenge for her sister Xue Daiba, to implement "human execution" against Jian Xin, to tell him everything to protect, making him more painful than death, this is a direct belief in Jian Xin's [protecting others] The trampling, in other words, is revenge on society. Although the pattern is not as good as the first three, it is also a very good theme. However, the literary drama of "Human Punishment" is really broken, Xue Daiba x Jian Xin, Xue Daiba x Xue Dai Yuan sister and brother, the emotional portrayal of these two groups of characters is too thin, so that in the end, it is completely the second sister in the middle who controls the younger brother Nonsense, so that the rationality of the character's motivation is greatly reduced. And the scene where Xue Daiyuan appeared was also overdone. Coupled with the unremarkable narrative skills, the problem is even more prominent. This even resulted in a very loose rhythm and emotional incoherence in the first 3/4 of the story. Speaking of action scenes. I seem to have discovered a very interesting feature of the "Rurouni Kenshin" series today: martial arts drives literary dramas. As long as the action drama is brilliant, the literary drama will also become extraordinarily beautiful. The first few action scenes are relatively ordinary for this series, and at the same time, the literary dramas are as boring as boiled water. Until the decisive battle plot, the action scenes took off immediately, and various activities were staged one after another (Kim Shin VS Xuedaiyuan created a new height of action scenes), and the emotions of the characters were instantly full of excitement, compact and enjoyable. And this time, the action scenes are basically put in the evening, and the difficulty is really higher. [Action] For the live-action movie "The Rogue", it is not only a sign, but also a soul. overall I'm a little disappointed with "Ren Zhu Pian". Wait for the resources of "Reminiscence Chapter", maybe after reading both of them, you will have different feelings.
