When showing the wolves catching the yellow sheep, they used the overhead shot of the big vision, which well reflected the formation of the wolves, and also perfectly expressed the momentum of the galloping army.
The change in color is connected to the changing light and dark of the wolves in the story. Most of the colors in the film are mainly green. At this time, the grassland is quiet and peaceful, the sheep are grazing leisurely, and the wolves will not appear, which is full of vitality. When autumn arrives, the green grass begins to wither and turns gray and white, and life gradually loses its color. At this time, the wolves also begin to hunt, and a hunt begins. When winter came, the earth turned white. Humans secretly took away the yellow sheep buried in the snow by the wolves, and even the greedy people did not leave behind. White is a holy color, symbolizing purity and devotion, but the white snow can't hide the selfish desires of human beings, forming a sharp contrast. In the end, the angry wolves began to retaliate, and the white snow was dyed red with blood. The killing began.
The editing of the screen in this film can be regarded as one of the highlights of the film. In the scene where the wolves hunt and kill the yellow sheep, first the wolves are lurking in the grass, and then the wolves attack and block. In the battle between wolves and military horses, the photographer placed the camera in the middle of the war, making the audience feel that the horses’ hooves were flying and the wolves were slaughtering right in front of us, which has a strong sense of immersion. But even in such a chaotic scene, the edited pictures are also quite smooth, without the slightest feeling of confusion and procrastination, perfectly showing the fierceness and cruelty of the wolves.
Perhaps the director paid too much attention to the beauty of the picture and ignored the continuity of the plot, so this unsmooth story has also become a place criticized by the audience.
The film is a single-line narrative that progresses layer by layer in chronological order (the sequence of story development). As the protagonists of the film, Chen Zhen and Yang Ke, the creators are not full and three-dimensional enough for them, and they do not have personalized characters. The only thing that makes Chen Zhen different is that he likes to study wolves and secretly raises a little wolf cub. Regarding Yang Ke, it is even more thin. What kind of character does Yang Ke have? Why did he come to the grassland? It has never been reflected. Yang Ke's character can only be reflected when arguing with Chen Zhen, but in other aspects, he has completely become a dispensable person.
It may be due to the large-scale display environment, which also caused the problem of abrupt progress of the plot and unclear details. Why Chen Zhen can tolerate the wolf's bite on him is not clear. Chen Zhen fell in love with the Mongolian woman Gasmai inexplicably, and there is no clear reason. Bao Shungui's emotional jump is also unacceptable. He was furious at the scene of the military horse accident. When the result came out, his attitude became kinder again. Later, when he was hunting wolves, he would accept Chen with his character. Array's suggestion to let the wolf go? And Yang Ke's wild union with a Mongolian woman is also shocking and completely incoherent.
The broken story also detracts from this film a lot. If there is a complete story with exquisite audio-visual effects, then this film will be taken to a higher level.
