Iron Rain: When the situation on the peninsula deteriorates

Yet another, mind you, yet another movie that couldn't be made in Heaven.

Whether it is the bold story concept or the excellent cast, it is "Iron-Rain", the reason why this Korean movie is worth watching. The film assumes that a coup d'etat takes place in North Korea, and the supreme power is successively controlled by the guard-guard-bureau-general Park Guangdong and the investigation-inspection-bureau-general Li Taihan. North Korean soldiers disguised as South Korean soldiers snatch the missile launch vehicle of the US military stationed in South Korea, and seriously injured the North Korean top leader-leader inspected in the Kaesong Industrial Park. Under the cover of special agents, they were forced to go to South Korea to seek Rescue. North Korea immediately announced the termination of the Armistice-War-Agreement, and used nuclear weapons as a threat to prepare for the military reunification of the Korean-Korean Peninsula. The United States decided to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike.

In the first hour of this film, I was firmly pressed into my seat by this wonderful design. In terms of action scenes, the film manages the personal and national levels well. On the one hand, there are the aggressive North Korea and the US military strategic bombers that are flying closer and closer, and on the other hand, the North Korean unfamiliar with the place of life. Special agent Yan Tieyou covered the highest-highest-leader-leader to escape the pursuit of Li Taihan's subordinates again and again. South Korea has the current two-term president-elect, North Korea has a mad-crazy high-ranking official, the United States has the Secretary of State and the CIA South Korean branch minister, Japan has the ambassador to South Korea, China has the ambassador to South Korea and the head of the National Security Agency South Korea... ...The intricate international relations have been truly reproduced, and South Korea's sense of powerlessness among the three major powers, China, the United States, and Japan, is undoubtedly revealed.

However, when the highest-ranking-leader-leader in North Korea was transferred to a small clinic, the special agent Yan Tieyou forced the obstetrics and gynecologist to treat him, and the plot began to change. The flavor of this Korean drama is brought into full play in the last hour of the film, making the original serious story light and airy. The two-line narrative is fine, but it is easy to settle in the literary drama, and immediately return to the soap opera with the taste of kimchi. The director's original intention was to explain that "it is not the division of the country that harms the people, but the people who use the division to seek political interests" through the friendship between Guo Zheyu, the chief of diplomatic security at the Blue House, and Yan Tieyou, a special agent of the North Korea-North Korea Investigation Bureau. The subject, this idea is very lofty. However, after teasing the highest-level-leader-leader-people, bureaucracy, and the ignorance and poverty of North Korea, the story begins to take a surreal wicked path, and the critical international situation is diluted, instead North Korea and North Korea The road-based nuclear missile launched in the East China Sea exploded after being intercepted by Japan, miraculously destroying all the nuclear missiles dropped by the United States in one breath; the North Korean-North Korean soldiers are still pursuing the Spring and Autumn Dream of sweeping the peninsula by themselves to this day. The unification plan was to use a nuclear bomb to destroy Daejeon, the power communication center of South Korea, paralyze high-end US and South Korean weapons and then enter Seoul through a tunnel, and take the US military stationed in South Korea as a hostage; after the crisis ended, North Korea and North Korea agreed to Guo Zheyu's request and distributed the nuclear weapons to I was impressed by the bizarre plot like the Korean half. If the director treats "give half of the nuclear weapons to South Korea, so that when the war breaks out, North and South Korea will be destroyed together" as an affectionate joke, the story may be more meaningful and profound, instead of becoming an anticlimactic farce like it is now.

Overall, this is a commercial film with a true depiction of the current international situation as its selling point. South Korea once again demonstrated the strength of a mature cultural industry. No matter how the DPRK and the ROK change their owners, it will be hard to prosper the people, and it will be hard to destroy the people.
