Briefly introduce the content of this movie. The main story is the story between two boys who have a good impression of each other during the Republic of China.
There are two points of conflict in this film.
One is that the society is closed and that homosexuality is a disease. The male protagonist sees the younger brother who has been bullied because he is gay, and does not know how to deal with his feelings for his same-sex friends.
The second involves the issue of doctrine. Some religions consider homosexuality to be a sin. Therefore, the male protagonist's own beliefs and sexual orientations contradict each other, causing the pain and feeling of unacceptance to achieve dramatic tension.
But to be honest, because the plot is not layered enough, the emotions between the actors are very flat, which is what makes me very disappointed. There should be tension in the plot, although they all have emotions, but when they watch it, they feel that they shouldn't, because there is no strong emotional stacking, so many things are not in line with "reality".
And the director's close-up shooting method in order to let the audience better understand the character's emotions really puzzles me, because I don't feel particularly empathy because the actor's face is placed very large.
I also know that there are more "positive reviews" than "negative reviews" on the Internet, and I have also read a lot of people's recommendations and introductions, but I personally say that this movie is really not that good, and I won't think twice. Brush, from the perspective of mood and plot, the full score is only five points.
The subject matter is good, but I always feel that after reading it, there will be a feeling of "not in place". For example, the character of Birdy is also very problematic. Obviously, it should be very "weird". Birdman, who jumped off the building without making a sound, chose to retreat and escape when facing his own emotions, and the justification for retreating was not in line with the behavioral logic of his character in the play.
Finally, I want to emphasize that the above are all subjective statements, and I don’t mean to be corrected or to prove who is right and who is wrong. I just don’t understand that everyone has a lot of praise for this movie, so I wrote this movie review.
Then, I really don't like that some things are made for the sake of making them, and this movie gives me that feeling, and I don't know why, but I feel sorry for it.
