Full of symbols and metaphors with Shakespeare-like dialogues. If the latter half of the film kept its high standard of sarcasm, it would have been a masterpiece. Music is superb, very interesting framing (especially the character-centered shots at the beginning of the movie) but not intentional (as to framing in the King's Speech). Wondering what role Veronica plays in our society today. If JD is the revolutionist (or abolitionist) that wishes to break the existing structure apart with sacrifice and unavoidable chaos, where does Veronica stands - the protector of the old machine? The peacekeeper of the filthy but yet stable environment for the future generation? And the thought that I was glad that everything was kept as before terrifies me after seeing the movie.

Besides that, Winona Ryder was too hot and I just wanna marry her.

    1. Although it's a film from 1989, although the girls' colorful long johns are a bit hot, but what's the matter with other clothes so trendy! In particular, Veronica's small suits and JD's T-shirts have grown a lot! 2. Although it is a youth film, although cynical, it is not lacking in depth. Think about those youth films now, where the actors are wearing fancy clothes, the props and scenes are in line with the so-called trend (but they are full of cheap feeling), and then they will give you a positive energy or a fussing negative energy. You can't feel any truth, and after watching it, you just want to shout "what the hell", and then decide to never watch youth movies again. 3. No wonder Winona and Depp fall in love, both of them have such a cult temperament! 4. The male protagonist was so handsome when he was young, how evil and different! How did he become a simple and honest uncle now. . . resentment = =

Surprise, surprise, my God!! This film also has the kind of spirit I want to see the most. The ending of the original version is indeed more in line with the overall tone of the film, and the finished film is more logical and relatively mild; extremes can leave an impression, this is Woodstock in the 1980s. Joyful and extreme, like a game. *Please imagine that I have blown up all the schools. *

Heathers quotes

  • Ram Sweeney: [after watching J.D. flirt with Veronica] Let's kick his ass!

Kurt Kelly: Shit, Ram - we're seniors, man. We're too old for that kind of crap. Let's give 'im a good scare, though.

[They walk to where J.D. is sitting]

Ram Sweeney: [Sticking his fingers into J.D.'s lunch] You gonna eat this?

Kurt Kelly: What did your boyfriend say when you told 'im you were movin' to Sherwood, Ohio?

    Ram Sweeney: Answer him, dick!

Kurt Kelly: Hey Ram, doesn't this cafeteria have a "No Fags Allowed" rule?

J.D.: Well they, uh, seem to have an open door policy for assholes though, don't they?

Kurt Kelly: What did you say, dickhead?

J.D.: [He sighs, stands, and pulls out a gun] I'll repeat myself.

    [He shoots Kurt and Ram]

  • Heather Chandler: You wanted to be a member of the most powerful clique in school. If I wasn't already the head of it, I'd want the same thing.
